Marvin House Luncheon Aug. 14
The next Marvin House men’s luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, featuring guest speaker Robert Nordin, who will discuss the Habiterra architectural Marvin House review. Tours will be available after lunch. Reservations are required by Monday by calling the Marvin House at 488-6206. The luncheon costs $12. Auxiliary To Host Social Fundraiser
BUSTI — The Busti Fire Department Auxiliary will host a strawberry social fundraiser from 3-6 p.m. Sunday at the Busti Fire Hall, Mill Road, at the five corners of Busti. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12.
Quilt Guild To Meet Wednesday
BUSTI — The Chautauqua Region Quilt Guild will meet Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. at the Busti Fire Hall. The program will be Demo Night. Refreshments will be served. Guests are always welcome to attend.
Author To Sign Copies Of Book
BEMUS POINT — Local author Henry “Hank” Danielson will be at The Lawson Center in Bemus Point on Saturday from 1-3 p.m. to sign his new book “Island People: Finding Our Way.” This book focuses on Hank and his wife Julie’s life experiences, which include their time in the Peace Corp and two years living and teaching on a lake island in Central Africa. The book also highlights the Danielson’s passion for sailing, including exploration of the Great Lakes and Eastern U.S. Seaboard in several small cruising sailboats.
27th Family Reunion Saturday
The 27th annual Burch Family Reunion will be held at the Stockton Firemans Grounds Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served. Bring a dish to pass, your own table service and beverages. Participants are also asked to bring item for Chinese auction. There will be kids games, Chinese auction, desert bake off, cornhole, 25 items raffle and 50/50 raffles.
Poland Road To Close Monday
POLAND — The Chautauqua County Department of Public Facilities announced that beginning Monday, Route 42 in Poland, between Route 394 and Route 62, will be closed to traffic due a bridge replacement. A detour will be posted, and will remain in effect until the signs are removed, the county said.
Juggler To Be At Ellington Library
ELLINGTON — Dave and Kyle Fultz are a father-and son team of professional jugglers will be entertaining the community of Ellington on Tuesday from 1-2 p.m. at the Ellington Farman Library. He’s performed on stage multiple times with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. Kyle starting juggling at age 14 and now is an accomplished juggler who tends to favor today’s modern jugglers rather than the more traditional styles. This free performance is part of the Library’s Summer Reading Program and is funded in part by the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation with a grant through the Falconer Region Community Fund. Gravitational Bull is appropriate for all aged audiences. The Ellington Farman library is located on 760 Thornton Road, Ellington.
