City South Side Walking Tour Set

Dr. Tom Greer, Fenton History Center trustee, will lead a walking tour of the historic south side of Jamestown starting at 10 a.m. Saturday. The south side of Jamestown in the mid-1800s to early 1900s was a mix of neighborhoods and businesses. The tour will point out the beauty and majesty of an era gone by in the south side neighborhoods near Forest Avenue as well as information about the early businesses and people who thrived there. The tour will begin at the Fenton History Center parking lot. The tour is two hours long and will end back at the Fenton History Center. The fee is $10 for potential members and $5 for Fenton History Center members. Children are free.

Weavers Guild To Meet Saturday

The Chautauqua County Weavers Guild will hold its next meeting Saturday at 10 a.m. at the YWCA in Westfield. Members will start planning their next weaving project using information presented at previous meetings. Anyone interested in weaving or the guild is welcome to attend. Sinclairville To Hold History Fair

The village of Sinclairville is holding its 20th annual History Fair on Saturday, Sept. 8. There will be a grand parade at 10 a.m. and everyone interested in joining in is invited. Line up is by 9:30 a.m. at the Sinclairville Elementary School. Anyone wishing to participate can call 962-3253 to register, just leave a message.

Clymer Library To Hold Open Forum

The Clymer-French Creek Library Board of Trustees will hold an open forum meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 29, at 6 p.m. at the library. The library is located at 564 Clymer-Sherman Road, Clymer. The board will vote on an interim director, discuss salary, discuss hours of operation and discuss by-laws. The meeting is open to the public.

Hazeltine Library Board To Meet

BUSTI — The Hazeltine Public Library board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, in the library, 891 Busti-Sugar Grove Road. The public is welcome to attend. For more information, visit the library or call 487-1281.

Season Opener At Strider Field

The first home Jamestown High School football game will be Friday, Aug. 31, at 7 p.m. at Strider Field. Jamestown schools would like to remind the community of our football game procedures. In an effort to create a safe and welcoming atmosphere for our spectators, all elementary and middle school students must be accompanied by an adult.

Class Of 1965

To Hold Picnic

Class members of the Jamestown High School Class of 1965 will hold an end-of-summer picnic at the Vikings Lodge Lake Park, Route 430, Maple Springs, at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30. Anyone who has not yet placed a reservation can email Mary Ann Zimmer at mzimmer@windstream.net or call 665-4034.
