City Gas Prices Stay Steady
Gas prices in Jamestown held steady again this week at $3.037 per gallon this week, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report. All motorists in the mid-Atlantic and northeast are paying 1 to 5 cents less this week to fill-up. Statewide, New York gas prices are about a penny less on the week ($3.00). With a 800,000 barrel draw, gasoline inventory levels now sit at 63.2 million — the lowest levels reported in the region by the Energy Information Administration since early May. The average price of gas this time last year was $2.44 per gallon.
Pilgrim UCC To Host Film Night
Pilgrim Memorial and First Congregational Churches, corner of Forest and McKinley avenues, will have a free movie night at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. There will also be free popcorn and beverage. The movies are: Dr. Seuss’s “The Lorax” and Veggie Tales: “Dave and the Giant Pickle.” Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Those attending should use the Forest Avenue entrance.
Picnic To Be Held In Falconer Park
FALCONER — The annual picnic for former Chautauqua Hardware employees will be held this Sunday at 1 p.m. at Falconer Park. Those who attend are asked to bring their own table service and a dish to pass.

SOUTH DAYTON — The Pine Valley Central School Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Monday at 7 p.m. in the Board Room, Room 11 in the Elementary School. The meeting is open to the public.
Randolph School Board To Meet
RANDOLPH — The Randolph Central School District board will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 28, at 7:15 a.m. for the appointment of new employees and any other district business. The meeting will be held in the District Office in the high school building. The public is welcome to attend.
TEA Party To Meet Tuesday
LAKEWOOD — The Southern Tier TEA Party Patriots will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, at the Lakewood American Legion. A representative from SCOPE will discuss the issue of Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the NRA and the “Indict Cuomo” movement. There will also be presentations on the Fund and Complete the Border Wall Act and Prager videos titled “Make Men Masculine Again” and “Polish Eastern Europe Immigration” will be shown. A report will also be given titled “From the Local Swamp.” Meetings are open to the public.
Bridge League To Begin Tuesday
Tuesdays beginning Aug. 28 at 12:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church, Sixth Street and Prendergast Avenue, Jamestown, is the regular weekly game of the Chautauqua Area Bridge League. The league is ACBL-sanctioned and master points awarded, but ACBL membership is not required. All bridge players are welcome to attend. For more information, call 397-1266.
