Thrift Store Bag Sale Ongoing

The Community Outreach Center thrift store is having a summer bag sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday and Friday. Bags can be filled with summer clothing for $2. All other items over 50 cents will be half-price. The shop also has furniture, books and household items. The store is located on the third floor of First Lutheran Church, corner of Chandler and Center streets, Jamestown. Normal hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. All proceeds benefit local charities.

Society Of Artists Meets Today

CELORON — The next meeting of the Chautauqua County Society of Artists will be at 6 p.m. today in the Celoron Community Building in Lucille Ball Memorial Park. The meeting will feature Anne Jackson of the Beaded Forest making bracelets. She was scheduled to do the project at the society’s last meeting, but due to unforseen circumstances, was unable. Elaine Caflisch and Mary Barker stepped in and taught a class on making scarf slides out of polymer clay for the scarves they’ve taught in the past. The general public is invited to attend. A small fee for materials is assessed at the meeting for non-members, but can be applied toward the membership fee. The group will display various arts at the Lakewood Memorial Library in September. Norden Club To Host Dinner

The Norden’ Women’s Club Member Guest Dinner will be held Saturday at Moon Brook Country Club with a social at 6 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. Program for the evening will be the Thule Dancers. Ripley Board To Gather Thursday

RIPLEY — A regular meeting of the Ripley School Board will be held on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the upstairs library of the Ripley Central School. The meeting is open to the public.

Senior Social Planned Aug. 22

ASHVILLE — A senior social will be hosted at the Ashville Fire Department on Wednesday, Aug. 22, with registration starting at 2:30 p.m. Happy Days will provide musical entertainment at 3:45 p.m., and dinner will be served at 5 p.m. Admission is $13. Support Group To Meet Twice

Shades of Pink, a Female cancer support group, will meet at Hampton Inn, 4 West Oak Hill, Jamestown, on Wednesday as well as on Sept. 19 beginning at 6 p.m. All in need are welcome to share any needs and concerns.

Celoron Concert Rescheduled

CELORON — The village of Celoron has rescheduled the concert by Rustic Ramblers to 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Desi Arnaz Bandshell in Lucille Ball Memorial Park, Celoron. The concert series is sponsored in part by the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation. All are invited to attend the free concert. Those attending should bring a lawn chair.
