Youth Conference Kicks Off Today

RUSSELL, Pa. — Students in grades 6-12 and recent high school graduates are invited to attend the Encounter Youth Conference today and Saturday at Praise Fellowship, 7451 Market St., Russell, Pa. Encounter begins today at 7 p.m. with special speakers, worship sessions, small group times, food, games and more. Students will stay overnight at the church. Friends and family of all ages are welcome to attend the closing community service from 6:30-10 p.m. on Saturday. Admission to Encounter is free. UMC To Host Dinner Saturday

The North Harmony United Methodist Church will have a Swiss steak dinner Saturday from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the church, 6814 Sherman-Stedman Road. The cost is $8.50 for adults and $4 for children. Take-out orders will be available, and there will be a bake sale table. Proceeds will be used for community outreach projects. The Crossmen, a gospel quartet, will perform at 7 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

Spaghetti Dinner Set For Saturday

The Marco Polo Club will host a spaghetti dinner Saturday from 4:30-7 p.m. Cost is $9 for adults and $5 for children. The club is located at 1027 E. Second St. in Jamestown. The event is open to the public.

Historical Society To Meet Monday

FREWSBURG — The Carroll Historical Society will be open on Saturday for visitors from 2-4 p.m. On Monday, the board will hold its regularly meeting at 6:30 p.m. at 5 W. Main St., Frewsburg. A special trip to tour the Scandia Historical Society, with a visit to an old Swedish church and 1880s cabin in Scandia, Pa., is planned. Anyone interested is asked to meet at the Carroll Historical Society at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18. Attendees are asked to bring a $5 donation for the Scandia Society and a lunch.

Business Event Set For Saturday

Wegmans in Ellicott is hosting several local businesses on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for their Best of Chautauqua event. Businesses on hand will include Marco Rosso, Abers Acres, Stedman Coffee, Borsari and Southern Tier Brewery to name just a few.

Bemus Point BOE To Meet Monday

The Bemus Point School Board will meet Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the STEM room located at Maple Grove Middle-High School, Dutch Hollow Road. The meeting is open to the public.

Ice Cream Social Set For Tuesday

KIANTONE — The annual Ice Cream Social held by the Kiantone Congregational Church will be held Tuesday from 4:30-7:30 p.m. on the lawn by the church. Hot dogs, ice cream sundaes and homemade cake will be served. Also included will be a Grandmas Attic and bake sale beginning at 4 p.m.

To Meet Tuesday

CELORON — The South and Center Chautauqua Lake Sewer Districts board will meet at noon Tuesday, Aug. 14, in the Water Pollution Control Facility in Celoron. The public is welcome to attend.
