Alzheimer’s Meetings Set

SINCLAIRVILLE — A three-part series of educational programs created and delivered by the Alzheimer’s Association Western New York Chapter will be presented on three consecutive Tuesdays in August at the Park United Methodist Church in Sinclairville. The series is appropriate for those living with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia and their care partners. The program will offer tips for living well with dementia and help care partners provide safe, effective and comfortable care. Guidance on improving communication, managing behavioral changes and the importance of self-care will also be discussed. Fire Dept. To Host Open House

CHAUTAUQUA — The Chautauqua Fire Department will host an open house Sunday, from noon-3 p.m. The department will offer tours and highlight its new engine with four-wheel drive. The department will also host its Chiavetta’s chicken barbecue. On Thursday, Aug. 9, the group will host its Red Cross Blood Drive from 1-5 p.m. at the fire department. The fire hall is located at 2 Royal Way in Chautauqua.

Ashville Reunion To Be Held

ASHVILLE — The Ashville Grade School reunion will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, at the North Harmony Park on Butts Road. Those attending should bring a dish to pass, table setting and a chair. The reunion is open to anyone who attended the Ashville Grade School. For more information, call Patty at 763-2085.

Book Signing To Be Held Aug. 4

BEMUS POINT — A book signing and presentation for local author Henry Danielson’s “Island People: Finding Our Way” will take place Saturday, at the Lawson Center from 1-3 p.m.

Church To Hold Men’s Dinner

The men of Emmanuel Temple Church, will be having a barbecue ribs and chicken dinner from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday. The menu will include pinto beans, potato salad, corn bread and cake. The cost for a rib dinner is $10 and the cost for a chicken dinner is $8. For delivery, call 484-2773

Anew Center Plans Activities

The Salvation Army Anew Center will host a pair of activities in August to raise awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault services available to the community. The first will be from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, at the Salvation Army, 704 Central Ave., Dunkirk, with the second from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Salvation Army in Jamestown, 83 S. Main St. Both will have music, food, activities, bounce houses and summer games. Several community agencies will be at each event to share information about their services as well.

Cassadaga BOE To Meet Aug. 13

CASSADAGA — The Cassadaga Valley School Board will meet Monday, Aug. 13, at 7 p.m. in the middle-high school multipurpose room. The meeting is open to the public.
