Concert To Be Held Thursday

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Free Library announces that folk singer Nan Hoffman will present a concert Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in celebration of the library’s summer reading program: Libraries Rock. “Sing a Story — Read a Song” is free to the public and is sponsored by NYSCOPBA at Lakeview and the Ross Grange. Children and teens participating in the library’s summer reading program are “library rock stars” reading to accumulate minutes that represent how famous they are. Prizes will be awarded to the top readers. Young people entering grades seventh to 12th meet at the library on Wednesdays from 1-5 p.m. Those entering grades K through sixth meet on Thursdays from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Information about library services and programs is available at sinclairvillelibrary.org.

Harmony Clerk’s Office Closed

HARMONY — The Harmony Town Clerk’s office will be closed today. Normal hours will resume on Tuesday.

Recording Studio To Open Friday

The Lost Recording Studio, 316 E. Fourth St., Jamestown, will be holding an open house this Friday from 4-9 p.m. This studio is the first of its kind in the area and is a state-of-the-art facility. Their webpage will offer a listing of musicians that includes singers and studio artists with photo and audio clips of their work so that a client will be able to easily find what they need for their recording needs.

Weavers Guild To Meet Saturday

BLOCKVILLE — The Chautauqua County Weavers Guild will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Harmony Historical Society facility in Blockville. The meeting is the guild’s traditional summer picnic. Those attending should bring a dish to share along with table service and handwoven placemat. The program for the day will be tips and tricks presented by Suanne Pasquarella. Members need to bring a recently woven, felted, knitted or fiber crafted, piece to enter in the annual clothesline show. Members will vote for their favorite and prizes will be awarded. Busti Concert To Perform Saturday

The Busti Gazebo Concert will feature Happy Days on Saturday. The great sound of the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s will be performed by Gabriel (Ross) Giuffre on the keyboard and Mary Giuffre on the drums. Ice cream and light foods will be available. All shows start at 6:30 p.m. The concerts are sponsored by the Busti Hamlet Development Association and the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation. Driver Class To Begin Aug. 20

BROCTON — Fellowship Church, 148 W. Main St., Brocton, has scheduled an AARP safe driver class for Aug. 20 and 21 from 8:45 a.m. to noon. Class fees are $20 for AARP members and $25 for nonmembers payable by check made out to AARP. The church is located at the corner of West Main and School streets right next to the Brocton Central School. Please bring a pen, driver’s license, AARP membership card and check made out to AARP on the first day. Class size is limited so please call early to register at 224-3280. A waiting list is kept so if once registered you find you cannot attend please be courteous and cancel your reservation.
