Sewer District Panel To Meet

The Technical Committee of the South and Center Chautauqua Lake Sewer District administrative board will meet today at 8:30 a.m. today at the Water Pollution Control Facility. The meeting is open to the public.

Community Blood Drive To Be Held

Community Blood Bank will be hosting a community blood drive today from noon to 5 p.m. at UPMC Chautauqua, classrooms 2 and 4, 207 Foote Ave., Jamestown. All donors will receive a chance to win a $50 Kwik Fill gift card. During the summer months, the need for blood increases while donations decrease. “The need for blood never takes a vacation. It’s important to take the time to donate,” said Kathy Hastings, Community Blood Bank mobile drive coordinator. “Your donation can save up to three lives.” Individuals are eligible to give blood if it has been 56 days since their last donation; they are at least 17 years of age (16 with parental consent); weigh at least 110 pounds; have not received a tattoo or body piercing in the past 12 months; and are in good general health. Donors must have a valid photo ID. Prior to donating, those giving blood should eat a good solid meal and drink at least 18 ounces of water. Walk-ins are always welcome and appointments but can be made if preferred.

Family Movie Night To Be Held

FREWSBURG — The United Methodist Church, 109 Old Fentonville Road, Frewsburg, will host a free family movie night Saturday at 6:30 p.m. “Paul, the Apostle of Christ” will be shown. Free popcorn and drinks will be provided.

Koinonia Church To Hold VBS

The Koinonia Christian Fellowship Church, 1427 Warren and Jamestown Blvd., Jamestown, invites children kindergarten through sixth grade, to join them for vacation bible school running Aug. 6-10. Children who attend will enjoy a “Time Lab” theme where they will travel to the past, present and future to find Jesus in the scriptures. Vacation bible school is free to the public. County Health Board To Meet

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua County Board of Health will meet on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the HRC building, fourth floor conference room, in Mayville. The meeting is open to the public.

Library To Host Caregiver Event

The is pleased to announce another Monday night program at the library. On Monday, July 23, a representative from Chautauqua Opportunities Alzheimer’s Services will present “Dealing With Caregiver Stress” at the Hazeltine Public Library. Topics that will be covered include: avoiding burnout, caring for the caregiver, reducing stress and support services available. The program will begin at 6:30 p.m. and allow time for questions, answers and discussion. The library is located at 891 Busti Sugargrove Road.
