Food Pantry To Close Saturday

ASHVILLE — The Ashville Food Pantry will be closed Saturday due to Ashville Day community garage sales. Those who are out of food and can’t wait until the next day the pantry is open on Thursday, July 26, can call 763-9252 and pantry officials will set up an emergency appointment.

Bandshell Series Announced

Jamestown’s Summer Bandshell Performance series will feature a concert by the Jamestown Municipal Band at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Goranson Bandshell in Allen Park. The concert is sponsored by The Resource Center. The concert theme is “An Evening of Broadway and Hollywood.” In addition to funding provided annually by the city of Jamestown, these performances are made available free to the public through the support of the following: Allen Park Women’s Club, Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, Chautauqua Theater Company, Cummins Engine, Fessenden, Laumer & DeAngelo; Lind Funeral Home, Local 134, American Federation of Musicians; Scandinavian Studies Program, Salon 1, The Resource Center, The United Arts Appeal of Chautauqua County Projects Pool Grant Program, and UPMC Chautauqua hospital. As in previous years, members of the Allen Park Women’s Club will continue in their tradition of providing coffee, fudge and other baked goods during all of the concerts. Concerts are free. Those attending should bring a lawn chair, blankets or park their vehicles close by to listen to the music from their car.

The Needhams To Play At Church

ELLINGTON — The Ellington Baptist Church will present The Needhams in concert at 7 p.m. Friday. An offering will be taken. For more information, call Pastor Don Moore at 673-6593.

Planning Board Meets Thursday

SALAMANCA — The Southern Tier West Regional Planning and Development Board will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Center for Regional Excellence, 4039 Route 219, Suite 200, Salamanca. Lunch will be served at noon.

Pre-Licensing Course Offered

FREWSBURG — A five-hour pre-licensing driving course will be held at Frewsburg High School on Monday, Aug. 6, from 5-10 p.m. The cost is $25. Preregister by calling the guidance office at 569-7026 between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday. When calling, please make sure you have your permit on hand.

JHS Class Of ’83 To Meet July 28

The Jamestown High School Class of 1983 will hold its 35th reunion Saturday, July 28, at the Elks Club in Jamestown. A pre re-union mixer will be the day before, July 27, at the Southern Tier Brewery. On Saturday at 6 p.m. there will be music and food at the Elks Club. The cost is $20.
