Author Presents Book Discussion

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Free Library announces that local author Loren Mayshark will present a book talk at the library on Thursday at 6 p.m. Mayshark will discuss his first book “Death: An Exploration: Learning to Embrace Life’s Most Feared Mystery,” which was published by Red Scorpion Press in 2016. This book won the 2016 Beverly Hills Book Award in the category of “Death and Dying,” and was selected as the honorable mention recipient for book of the year in the 2016 Foreword INDIES Awards.

School Board Sets Meeting

RIPLEY — The Ripley Central School Board of Education will hold a reorganizational meeting Thursday in the research library room 204 of Ripley Central School. A regular board meeting will be held afterward at 6:30 p.m.

Water District Meets Wednesday

The directors of the Chautauqua County Soil and Water Conservation District will meet Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. at the Northcrest Business Park, 220 Fluvanna Ave., Suite 600, Jamestown. The meeting is open to the public.

Seniors To Hold Summer Picnic

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Senior Citizens will hold their annual summer picnic on Tuesday at noon at the picnic grounds of the home of Diman and LouAnn Smith. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided. All those attending are asked to bring a dish of food to add.

Dog Days Event Set For July 21

SALAMANCA — Allegany State Park’s Red House Picnic Area will host its inaugural Dog Days of Summer event from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, July 21. There will be obstacle courses, paw painting, doggie treats and pups from a local adoption agency. Registration is not required. Third Saturday Trek Announced

SALAMANCA — Allegany State Park will host its next Third Saturday Trek starting at 10 a.m. July 21 at the Bear Springs trailhead, site marker 67. The treks are led by park staff, members of the Friends of Allegany State Park or Allegany State Park Historical Society members and focus on a different area of the park. Salvation Army Bible School Set

The Salvation Army, 83 South Main St., will be holding daily vacation bible school frim July 30 to Aug. 3 from 6-8 p.m. for children who attend Kindergarten through sixth grade. This year’s theme is “Game On: Gearing up for Life’s Big Game.”

JHS Reunion Panel Will Meet
