Route 21 To Be Closed Tuesday

The Chautauqua County Department of Public Facilities announced that Route 21 (Westfield-Sherman Road) and Route 22 (Nettle Hill Road) is closed to traffic due to a bridge replacement. The road closure began Tuesday with a detour posted in the area. The closure will be in place until the detour signs are removed.

Car Show Set

For Saturday

The Southern Tier Classic Chevy Car Club is hosting a car show Saturday at the Celoron RibFest. Registration begins at 9 a.m. with a $10 entrance fee per show car. All antique and special interest cars are invited to take part in the car show. The event benefits the Jamestown Area Meals on Wheels program with trophies and awards given out at 4 p.m. No pre-registration or rain date is scheduled.

History Center To Host Walking Tour

The Fenton History Center’s first annual summer walking tour will be held Saturday. Jenn Champ will lead those attending through a tour of the Fenton Museum of a new exhibit, “Made In Jamestown: How Furniture Built A City.” The tour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. The price is $5 for adults and members. Children ages 17 and younger are free.

Class Of ’68 To Meet Saturday

BEMUS POINT — The Maple Grove Central School Class of 1968 will hold its 50th reunion on Saturday, July 7, at 6 p.m. at Shaggy’s, upstairs of the See-Zurh House, at 6 p.m. It will be an informal get-together. The cost is $10 per person for finger foods. There will be a cash bar. Reservations are due by June 20 and can be sent with a check to Steve Johnson, 41 Maple Dr. E., Mayville, NY 14757. Hazeltine Library To Host Herb Talk

BUSTI — The Hazeltine Public Library will host Learning about Herbs at 7 p.m. Monday. Local gardener Fanchon Adams will be on hand to speak about growing and harvesting herbs and using them around the home. The workshop will last about one hour with a question and answer period to follow. The program is free and open to the general public but reservations are requested by calling the Hazeltine Public Library at 487-1281 or visiting the library at 891 Busti Sugar Grove Road. The library is accessible and has an adjacent parking lot.

Society Of Artists To Meet Tuesday

CELORON — The Chautauqua County Society of Artists will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Celoron Community Building in Lucille Ball Park. The art project will be led by Jerry Paduano and will be painting with one’s feet or toes. Those attending should wear appropriate clothing for such a project and bring along some extra paper towels. At the society’s last meeting, Stephanie Green led the group in a paint pouring technique. Wendy Cohen has again offered a glass class on Tuesday, June 19, from 10 a.m. to noon for a special price at the Turner Community Center at Chautauqua Institution.
