Churches To Host Combined Services

MAYVILLE — St. Mark Lutheran Church in Mayville will host combined Sunday services with St. Paul’s Episcopal Church for the entire month of July. In August, St. Paul’s will then host joint services with St. Mark for the entire month back at St. Paul’s, with all service times of 9:30 a.m.

Performance Free At City Bandshell

The Jamestown Summer Bandshell Performance series will feature the Jamestown Municipal Band as directed by Rick Lundquist at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The free concert series is held at the Goranson Bandshell in Allen Park. The concert theme is “A Patriotic Salute.” In addition to funding provided annually by the city of Jamestown, performances are made available free to the public through sponsorship by the Allen Park Women’s Club, Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, Chautauqua Theater Company, Fessenden, Laumer & DeAngelo; Lind Funeral Home, Local 134, American Federation of Musicians; Scandinavian Studies Program, Salon 1, The Resource Center, The United Arts Appeal of Chautauqua County Projects Pool Grant Program, and UPMC Chautauqua WCA Hospital. Members of the Allen Park Women’s Club will continue selling coffee, fudge and other baked goods during all of the concerts. All concerts are free to the public. Those attending should bring lawn chairs, blankets or park their vehicles near the bandshell and listen from their vehicle.

SWCS Board Meets Monday

The Southwestern Central School Board of Education will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the board room in the middle school. The public is welcome to attend.

JPS Board Sets Monday Meeting

The Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, in the board room at 197 Martin Road, Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend.

Facelift Slated For East Third Street

Jeffrey Lehman, director of Public Works for the city of Jamestown, announced that East Third Street, from Spring to Pine streets, will be closed weekdays beginning today from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., for approximately three weeks to facilitate streetscape reconstruction. Motorists must use alternate routes of travel.

’68 Plans Reunion

The Jamestown High School Class of 1968 has finalized plans for its 50th reunion. There will be an impromptu gathering Thursday, July 26, at 6 p.m., and a closed event July 27 at Gialy’s Restaurant at 210 Pine St. starting at 6 p.m. On Saturday, July 28, the class reunion dinner-dance will be held at Chautauqua Suites Hotel, with sign-in beginning at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $50 and covers Friday and Saturday evening events. Deadline for reservations is July 12. Any classmate who has not responded is urged to do so as soon as possible. Town Hall Closed On Fourth Of July

CARROLL — The Carroll Town Hall will be closed from July 4-6 in observation of the Fourth of July holiday. The office reopens on Monday, July 9.
