Migrant Prayer Vigil To Be Held
WESTFIELD — In conjunction with the Episcopal Church bishop’s activities, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church will be open all day for a prayer vigil on Thursday in response to the forced separation of children in America. The Rt. Rev. William Franklin will be visiting and appealing to Washington, and holding a prayer vigil as well. All are welcome to participate.
Antique Club To Meet Thursday
The Antique Automobile Club’s monthly meeting will take place at the War Vets Recreation Club at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 27. The meeting is one week later than the regular meeting date. Anyone interested in joining should be aware that members don’t need to own an antique auto to join. For more information, call Greg Press at 287-3754.
CAP To Host Open House
The Child Advocacy Program will host an open house from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 28, at its offices, 405 W. Third St., Jamestown. CAP recently completed an expansion project of the lower level of its office. The open house is to thank community partners, donors and advocates. Light refreshments will be served and a short dedication ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m. Reservations are requested by emailing bloomquistj@capjustice.org by Friday, June 22.
Weavers Guild To Meet Saturday
WESTFIELD — The Chautauqua County Weavers Guild will hold its next meeting Saturday at 10 a.m. at the YWCA in Westfield. The program will be a continuation of the Back to Basics theme. The meeting will be about weaving tools — the tools necessary to weave and extra tools members would like to have. Anyone interested in weaving or the guild is welcome to attend. Yoga Class To Be Held Saturday
An outdoor yoga class will be held Saturday at Lake View Cemetery conducted by Kara Bemis from Sun Moon Yoga and Fitness. The class begins at 10 a.m. in the Wildwood section of the cemetery and will last one hour. Participants of all experience levels are welcome to attend and should bring a yoga mat or beach towel, drinking water and wear comfortable clothing. A suggested donation of $5 for each participant is encouraged and will benefit the St. Susan Center of Jamestown. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery office on the corner of Lakeview Avenue and Buffalo Street at 9:45 a.m. Children eight years and older may attend, but must be accompanied by an adult.
Reading Event To Be Held
CHERRY CREEK — The Cherry Creek Library will hold its summer reading program, “Read & Rock” from 1-4 p.m. Mondays and 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturdays from June 5 through Aug. 20. The group will read and learn about musical instruments and make homemade instruments. For every five books a child reads, their name is entered in a drawing for prizes.
