Community Day In Cherry Grove
CLARENDON, Pa. — The Cherry Grove Old Home and Community Day will feature a mystery well as part of the 136th anniversary of the Cherry Grove oil boom. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, a mystery well replica will be available behind the fire hall at 6045 Cherry Grove Road, Clarendon. The event is free and open to the public. A replica of the 646 Oil Gusher will be open from 9 a.m. to noon. Family Movie Night Saturday
FENTONVILLE — The Fentonville United Methodist Church, 109 Old Fentonville Road, Frewsburg, will host a free family movie night at 6:30 p.m. Saturday featuring the film “I Can Only Imagine.” Free popcorn and drinks are provided.
Church To Host Breakfast Buffet
RIPLEY — The Ripley United Methodist Church is hosting an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 7:30-11 a.m. Saturday. Breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, bacon, made-to-order eggs and omelets, home fries, biscuits and sausage gravy, orange juice and coffee. The price is $7. The June breakfast will benefit the South Ripley Cemetery Association.
Pre-Licensing Course Saturday
SHERMAN — A five-hour pre-licensing course will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Sherman Central School. The cost is $25. To register, call 761-4808 and have the student’s learner’s permit on hand. Those taking the course should enter door “A” from the visitor parking lot.
FluvannaFest To Be Held Saturday
FluvannaFest will be held Saturday, with a run/walk beginning at 9 a.m. at the Fluvanna Community Church. A waffle breakfast at the church will be served at 7 a.m. The Fluvanna Fire Department will be open, and the auxiliary will hold a lunch for $5. Hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, cookies and drinks will be served. The library will host a reading time from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Historical Society will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with an ice cream social from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for a donation. The Fluvanna Cemetery Association will have members available to answer questions and show where veterans are buried. Stop by the shops and businesses of Fluvanna.
War Vets Car Show On Sunday
The War Vets is hosting its 27th annual Father’s Day car show starting at noon Sunday at 3431 Fluvanna Ave. There will be a chicken barbecue, food, refreshments and childrens’ games available. The car show is also the kick-off for opening the club’s in-ground swimming pool. There is no charge for those who want to enjoy the pool facilities. Life guards will be on duty.
Church To Host Rummage Sale
WATTS FLATS — Watts Flats United Methodist Church, 866 Blockville-Watts Flats Road, Ashville, will have its annual rummage sale on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Items available for sale have been donated. Lunch will be available to purchase.
