Spring Cleanup Event Begins

The town of Harmony and village of Panama will hold spring clean up today from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. No electronics or tires accepted. Call 782-4568 for more information.

Veterans Plan Fundraiser

The United Veterans Council of Jamestown will hold a fundraiser Saturday to raise money to purchase more U.S. Veteran grave flag holders. The council will sell coffee and donuts in the morning and water and hot dogs at lunchtime in conjunction with the Lakeview Cemetery Association’s garage lawn sale. The group will also work to place more U.S. Veteran permanent grave flag holders. Organizers are looking for donations for the food table in the morning and at lunch time as well as baked goods to sell and volunteers to help place the flag holders and to mark additional graves that will receive flags on the Thursday before Memorial Day. Writing Workshop Set For Monday

The Sinclairville Free Library announces that author J. Andersen will conduct a writing and critique workshop on Monday at 3 p.m. Participants should bring one or two typed double-spaced samples of their writing to receive feedback. Please call 962-5885 to reserve your place in the workshop. Andersen will also present a fiction-writing workshop on World Building on Saturday, May 26, at 10:30 a.m. These events were funded in part by Poets and Writers Inc. with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.

Allegany Group To Meet Saturday

RED HOUSE — Members of the Allegany State Park Historical Society welcome the public to their next monthly meeting on Saturday at 1 p.m. The meeting will be held the Quaker Lake Bathhouse Conference Room. This month’s speaker will be Tom Bergstue of “Mountain Cabin Outdoors,” who will give a presentation on “Black Bears in New York.” A professional in the hunting and fishing industry for over 20 years, he as also filmed video and photographed many bears in the wild. Bergstue has been featured in many sportsmen’s television shows, and his articles have been published in several major outdoors publications.

Gospel Concert Set For Sunday

STOCKTON — Soloist Dan Schall from Zelienople, Pa., will present a gospel concert at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Stockton Community Church, 4554 W. Railroad Ave., Stockton. An offering will be received. The public is invited to attend.

The Mt. Olivet Cemetery annual meeting will be held Monday at 6 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Chapel.

Library Board

To Meet Monday

The Ellington Farman Library Board of Trustees will hold its monthly meeting on Monday at 7 p.m. There is time designated for the public to speak at the beginning of each meeting. The library is located at 760 Thornton Road in Ellington and is handicapped accessible. The public is welcome to attend.
