’51 To Meet

The Jamestown High School Class of 1951 will meet at Alfie’s Restaurant on Fairmount Avenue at noon Wednesday. All interested are welcome to attend.

Library To Host Thursday Event

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Free Library will present a series of writing programs with award-winning author J. Andersen. The first event is a reading at 6 p.m. Thursday with highlights from the author’s Destiny by Design series, which won a bronze medal from the Illumination Book Award. Writing workshops with Andersen are scheduled for Monday at 3 p.m.; Monday, May 21, at 3 p.m. and a fictional world building workshop on Saturday, May 26, at 10:30 a.m. The events are free and open to the public and are paid for in part by Poets and Writers, Inc. with public money from the New York State Council on the Arts. Cancer Support Group To Meet

The Breast Cancer Support Group of Jamestown will meet Wednesday at Alfie’s Restaurant. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. with the meeting at 7 p.m. The speaker will be John A. Smith, who while in Florida went through the testings at Moffitt Hospital in Tampa of possibility of having breast cancer. Guests are welcome. For more information, call Pat Carr at 665-4343.

Riverwalk Council To Meet Today

The Jamestown Riverfront Management Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. today at the city Riverwalk. Those attending are asked to meet by Blackstone-Ney Ultrasonics. Items on the agenda include a discussion of riverwalk stabilization projects. The public is welcome to attend.

Seniors Citizens To Meet Today

SINCLAIRVILLE-The Sinclairville Senior Citizens will meet for a luncheon and program in the Sinclairville Firehall dining room on Tuesday promptly at noon. All those attending are asked to bring a dish of food to pass and their own table service. The program will follow the luncheon. New members are always welcome.

Group To Meet

CASSADAGA — The Citizens for a Better Cassadaga will meet Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Cassadaga Library. Planting in Ames Common and a “Light Up Cassadaga” holiday project will be discussed. New members welcome.

Candidate Event Set For Friday

WESTFIELD — The Westfield Republican Committee will hold its annual meet the candidates fundraiser on Friday at the Noble Winery, 8630 Hardscrabble Road in Westfield, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The featured speaker for this year’s event is retired Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Lt. Jim Quattrone, who will be seeking the position of Chautauqua County Sheriff in the upcoming November election. In addition to Quattrone, County Executive George Borrello will talk about what he learned during his first “100 businesses in 100 days” tour of Chautauqua County businesses. Borrello will also give an overview of upcoming initiatives and projects in Chautauqua County. Other elected officials who will be on the November election ballot are likely to attend and address the audience. Appetizers, wine, and non-alcoholic punch will be served during the event. Tickets are $15 per person and they may be purchased at the door. To buy tickets in advance call 326-6550.
