Crafts Group

To Meet Monday

The Ellington Library Quilters and Crafters Group will meet Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ellington Farman Library which is by the Town Square. The Community Crafters will meet Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Kennedy First United Methodist Church at the corner of Second and Church streets in Kennedy. Both groups are open to all adults, men and women and meet twice monthly. Participants normally work on their own projects or come to socialize.

Patriots To Meet On Tuesday

Southern Tier TEA Party Patriots will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Lakewood American Legion. Mel McGinnis will share particulars of his recent trip to Uganda, a country where both Islam and Christianity are prominent. Prager video on “Control of the Words” will be shown, along with “Is College Worth It?” and “Planned Parenthood.” Scott Axelson will present an update on the state Medicaid issue as well as local matters. Members will receive an update on windmills in Chautauqua County. Meetings are open to the public.

Ripley Board Gathers Tuesday

A special meeting of the Ripley Central School Board will be held Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the research library. The board is expected to go into executive session to discuss peronnel matters, as well as matters relating to the hiring of a new superintendent. The meeting is open to the public.

Thule Lodge

To Host Service

FALCONER — The Thule Lodge, which is the Swedish organization for this area, will hold its annual Memorial Service on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Falcon’s Nest at 2001 E. Main St. in Falconer. During the service, those members of the lodge who passed away in the last year will be remembered. Family members are invited to attend. Chaplain Diane Shaw, assisted by vice chairman Susan W. Sipos will place carnations on the altar in memory. Following the service, refreshments and a time for fellowship will be provided.

Historical Society Meets Monday

The Fluvanna Community Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Fluvanna Community Church. This is open to the public. Come, bring a friend and learn what you can do to help. Planning is well into making this years FluvannaFest in June a big success again. Volunteers are needed for the 5K Race and help for programs planned at the Historical Society.

Cemetery Group To Open Today

The Fluvanna Cemetery Association will be open today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will have old and present records available. Come and ask questions, learn about the Cemetery and its history. Also, veteran graves for American Revolution, Civil War, WWI, WWII and others are marked. Not all but a few of each with a list typed up of all known veterans buried in Fluvanna Cemetery.

JCC Board To Meet Tuesday

The next meeting of the JCC Board of Trustees will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the boardroom on the Jamestown Campus with videoconferencing to the boardrooms on the Cattaraugus County Campus in Olean and JCC North County Training Center in Dunkirk.
