Museum To Open On Sunday
SINCLAIRVILLE — The Valley Historical Society museum at Main and Lester streets in Sinclairville will be open Sunday from 2-5 p.m. The museum contains hundreds of artifacts from the Cassadaga Valley. The museum is open every Sunday from May through September except holiday weekends. There is no admission charge.
Garage Sale To Be Held Saturday
Lake View Cemetery, located at 907 Lakeview Ave., will be holding a garage sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the cemetery maintenance garage. Those attending are asked to use the Marvin Parkway gates. Cemetery officials are asking for volunteers to help with setup and during the sale: starting at 5 p.m. Friday; 7-9 a.m. Saturday; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday; and 1-2 p.m. Saturday.
Library To Honor Village Birthday
LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Memorial Library will hold special events to help celebrate the village of Lakewood’s 125th anniversary. The event will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the library, 12 W. Summit St., Lakewood. Activities include a scavenger hunt, old fashioned crafts, old-fashioned games and cupcake decorating throughout the event. At 11 a.m. “Life in Old Lakewood” essay contest winners in fourth through eighth grades will read their piece. Top winners will receive $25 gift cards from Off The Beaten Path Bookstore. At noon, “Old Lakewood Comes to Life” when children portray famous Lakewood citizens. At 1 p.m. “Lakewood Legends and Lore,” a roundtable conversation with longtime Lakewood resident Helen Ebersole, will take place.
Annual Meeting Planned Monday
The Mt. Olivet Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting on Monday at 6 p.m. at the Mt. Olivet Chapel. The cemetery is located on Dow Street in Jamestown.
Weavers Guild Meets Saturday
WESTFIELD — The Chautauqua County Weavers Guild will hold its next meeting on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the YWCA in Westfield. The program will be a discussion about different kinds of threads weavers use. Samples of various kinds and sizes of threads will be available.
