Jobs Corps To Host Info Tours
Cassadaga Job Corps Academy will host tours and information sessions for interested applicants and their families Thursday. They will start at 8:30 a.m. and again at 10 a.m. Cassadaga Job Corps Academy offers no-cost career training in the healthcare, construction and security industries as well as classes to prepare to take the TASC or obtain a high school diploma. In addition, the academy also offers a Job Corps Advanced Training program for LPN, in partnership with BOCES. In order to enroll in Job Corps, applicants must be 16-24 years old and meet income and other guidelines, as well as demonstrate readiness to embark on a rigorous and demanding training program. Rauh To Speak On Memorial Day
KENNEDY — Memorial Day Observance Chairman Terry Walker announced the keynote speaker for this year’s Memorial Day event is Chautauqua County Veterans Service Agency officer Michael Rauh. Rauh was born in Olean and grew up in Jamestown. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1990 and then enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served in the Gulf War with the 513th Military Intelligence Battalion and then on the Korean Border with the 102nd Military Intelligence Battalion. He finished his enlistment with the 82nd airborne division at Fort Bragg, N.C. In 2007, he joined the Chautauqua County Veterans Service Agency. The parade line-up will take place at 11 a.m. on Second, Church and Ellington streets in Kennedy and the parade will begin at 11:45 a.m. The Memorial Day Observance will be held at Riverside Cemetery immediately following the parade.
Outdoor Club To Hike Game Land
On Sunday, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will hike the trails at Akeley Swamp on Pennsylvania State Game Lands 282. The hike will be in recognition of the original hike, which took place in May 1968 and was the second hike of the newly formed Allegheny Outdoor Club. Charter member Marge Neel, who was on the original hike, will lead the anniversary hike. Participants will meet at the Pennsylvania State Game Lands 282 parking lot on Old Route 62 near the Pennsylvania-New York border at 1:30 p.m. For more information call Marge Neel at 814-757-9099.

At Lander Church
LANDER — Dan Schall will perform at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Lander United Methodist Church. Schall has been performing since he was a teenager, singing almost every weekend. In 2001, he resigned from his full-time job of 25 years to enter the ministry full time. For more information onDanSchall.org.

Cemetery Group Meets Saturday
FREWSBURG — The Fentonville Cemetery Association’s annual meeting will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Mary Himes residence, 25 Cherry St., Frewsburg. All lot owners are urged to attend. Officers will be elected and other pressing cemetery matters will be discussed.
