Marvin House Brunch Is May 20

On Sunday, May 20, the Marvin House will offer brunch to the general public between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The Marvin House chef will prepare eggs benedict and apple cobbler French toast with sausage for a price of $13 a person. Brunch also includes fresh fruit, a choice of juice and coffee or tea.

Alzheimers Seminar To Be Held May 22

WESTFIELD – “The Basics: Memory Loss, Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease,” a class presented by the Alzheimer’s Association Western New York Chapter, will be presented at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, at Absolut at Westfield, 26 Cass St., Westfield. Attendees will learn symptoms and effects of Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia, how Alzheimer’s affects the brain, causes and risk factors, how to find out if it’s Alzheimer’s disease, the benefits of early detection, treatment and community resources. Musician To Perform Sunday In City

Victory Tabernacle Church, 501 Third St., Jamestown, will host special music by Dan Schall during its 11 a.m. service Sunday. The public is welcome to attend.

Sinclairville Library Slates Plant Sale

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Free Library’s annual plant sale will take place Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the library, 15 Main St., Sinclairville. Donations of plants for the sale are welcome. Hardy locally grown perennials, annuals, shrubs and trees are some of the offerings that will be available. Early shopping is recommended for best selection. All proceeds benefit the library. The library will be closed on Monday, May 28, in observance of Memorial Day. New Dependency Group Meeting

Section Of Madden Road To Close

HARMONY — Madden Road in the town of Harmony between county Route 35 and Hoag Road will be closed to traffic while Bridge 1026 is replaced starting Tuesday. A detour will be posted. The closure will remain in effect until the detour signs are removed.

Ellington Library To Host Discussion

ELLINGTON — The Ellington Farman Library will host a discussion of the book “The Round House” by author Louise Erdrich on Monday from 11 a.m. to noon. The event is part of the Big Read program sponsored in part by the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System and the Seneca Nation Libraries. Allison Freeman will be the guest discussion group leader. Ellington Farman Library is located at 760 Thornton Road, Ellington.
