Valentine Day Lunch Planned

All existing members of the Falconer Senior Center are invited to a Valentine Day lunch at noon on Thursday, Feb. 15, in Alfie’s restaurant, Fairmount Avenue, Jamestown. Reservations are required and must be made before Feb. 10. Call 397-7213 or 484-7931.

Lenten Fish Begins Friday

Lenten fish fries at Holy Apostles Parish begin on Friday from 4:30-7 p.m. in St. John Church, 270 Newton Ave., Jamestown and will be held each Friday during Lent, except Good Friday. Dinners include battered or broiled fish, deep fried shrimp, a fish and shrimp combo or vegetable lasagna. The cost is $10 for adults and $8 for children. Takeouts are available; call 484-8554.

Thrift Shop

Now Open

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St. between East Fourth and East Fifth streets, Jamestown, will have all Ladies’ dress slacks available for $1 with ladies’ dresses and two-piece outfits available for half-price. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The shop is closed Wednesdays during the winter. Donations are accepted from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays or during regular business hours. Those with large donations are asked to call ahead. Off-street parking is available in the church lot off East Fifth Street. The all-volunteer staff includes many from RSVP. Proceeds are used locally.

Parks Committee To Meet Today

The Jamestown Parks, Recreation and Conservations Committee will meet at 5 p.m. today in DPW Conference Room A in Jamestown City Hall. The public is welcome to attend.

Winter Festival This Weekend

The Second Annual Cassadaga Winter Festival will be held Feb. 9-11. Friday events include: a family movie at 6:30 p.m. at Park Cassadaga Church, Maple Ave; Saturday events include:Audubon Nature shows and Cub Scout Bake Sale at Cassadaga Library, Maple Avenue from 10 a.m. to noon ; sledding, snowman building, cocoa and cookies at Cassadaga Country Club, Frisbee Road from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; wagon rides around Lakes from Cassadaga Country Club from 1-3 p.m.; historical walking tour and outdoor winter games at Maplewood hotel, Lily Dale from 3-5 p.m.; Snowball Dance, featuring Big Tone, at the American Legion, Maple Avenue from 7-10 p.m.; Sunday events include: Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast fundraiser at Cassadaga Fire Hall from 8-11 a.m.; free Corn Hole tournament at American Legion from 1-3 p.m. For more information see Citizens for a Better Cassadaga Facebook or cbcassadaga.org or call 665-8855.

Cassadaga Group To Meet

CASSADAGA — The Citizens for a Better Cassadaga will meet Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Cassadaga Library. On the agenda is the Cassadaga Winter Festival and future projects. All are welcome.

Rodeo Seniors To Meet Friday

GERRY — The Rodeo City Senior Citizens will meet Friday at the United Methodist Church in Gerry at noon. All those attending are asked to bring a dish of food to pass to add to the meal and their own table service. Table decorations will be provided. The program will follow the luncheon.
