Fenton To Host Annual Meeting

The Fenton Historical Society’s annual meeting, which is free and open for all of its members, will be held Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Fenton History Center.

Barber Shop Now Offering Contest

Clip Joint Barber Shop is hosting a beard contest from today through March 16 to benefit the United Christian Advocacy Network. The entry fee is $5 and those who participate will have their photo taken and posted to Facebook. The picture that receives the most “likes” will receive a Clubman beard kit. Most donations will receive a haircut and a jar of shaving cream. Donations can also be made at the shop at 177 Fluvanna Ave. in a person’s name. All donations must be turned in by March 16.

Vets Director To Host Office Hours

Steve McCord, Cattaraugus County Veterans Service Agency director, will hold office hours throughout the county. Hours are 1:30-4 p.m. on Wednesday at the Gowanda American Legion; 10 a.m. to noon at the Randolph American Legion and 1:30-4 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Franklinville Town Clerk’s office. McCord is also available from 1:30-4 p.m. Thursdays at the Little Valley County Office Building. Olean office hours are 8 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. and from 4-5 p.m. with prior appointment Monday through Friday. Due to unforeseen unavailability, it is advised to call the Olean office line at 701-3298 before traveling to any location.

Opioids Talk Planned Feb. 9

CASAC Prevention Works, in conjunction with Blackwell Chapel Baby Cafe and UPMC Chautauqua WCA, presents Opioid Addiction and Exposure to Infants. The discussion will feature Davina Moss-King, Ph. D, and will be held Friday, Feb. 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the UPMC Chautauqua WCA auditorium, 207 Foote Ave. in Jamestown. The event is free and lunch will be provided. Legion To Host Band Today

Lakewood Legion Post 1286 will be hosting the band, Screamin Lou, today from 8 p.m. to midnight. Charlie Vullo will be preparing dinners from 5-9 p.m. All members and guests are welcome, please sign in at door.

Boys And Girls Club Open Today

The Winifred Crawford Dibert Boys and Girls Club will be open noon-5 p.m. today for the K-8 half-day of school in the Jamestown School District. Lunch and a snack will be served. Swimming will be open 2:30-4:15 p.m. for those who bring a swimsuit and towel. The cost is $1 for non-members and free for members. The Club will be open 6-9 for ages 7 and older Friday evening. There is also a teen night for ages 13 and older from 9-10.

School Public Hearing Monday

A public hearing on the change to the Aged Income Tax Exemption Limit will be held at 5:45 p.m. Monday in the cafeteria at Maple Grove Junior-Senior High School, located at 3980 Dutch Hollow Road in Bemus Point. The meeting will take place before the board’s regular monthly meeting. The public is welcome to attend the meetings.
