Band To Perform At Kent Post

The Steve Strickland Band will perform in the Herman Kent Post on Saturday.

St. Lukes Thrift Shop Now Open

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St., between East Fourth and East Fifth streets, Jamestown, will have men’s sport coats available for $1 and all remaining men’s sweaters available for half-price. In the ladies’ department all plus size clothing is half-price. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. Donations are accepted from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays or during regular business hours. Those with large donations are asked to call ahead. Off-street parking is available in the church lot off East Fifth Street. The all-volunteer staff includes many from RSVP. Proceeds are used locally.

YMCA To Host Fundraiser

The Jamestown YWCA will host its fifth annual Bag The Winter Blues fundraiser starting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, at the Chautauqua Inn and Suites in Mayville. More than 80 purses will be given away containing prizes. Tickets are $25 and include assorted appetizers, dessert and five giveaway tickets. Additional giveaway tickets can be purchased at the event. A cash bar is also available. For ticket information call 488-2237. Tickets are on sale, with none available at the door. Tickets must be bought by March 9 by visiting the YMCA office at 401 N. Soup And Song Series Continues

St. Susan Center will host Steve Johnson, Matt Gronquist and Dylan Derby of The Probables as part of its Winter Soup and a Song series on Saturday. In addition to a great show, there will be five specialty soups (cheeseburger chowder, loaded baked potato, French onion, chicken, and orzo and three sisters (corn bean and squash) all created by the kitchen staff at St. Susan Center. The event runs from 6-8 p.m. at 31 Water St. in Jamestown and tickets are available at the door, $10 for Adults and Children $ 5 ages (6-12).

Cemetery Group Meets Saturday

The Charlotte Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Sinclairville Free Library, located at 15 Main St. in Sinclairville. Lot owners are invited to attend the meeting.

Meet And Greet Planned Tuesday

The Chautauqua Lake Partnership (CLP) will be hosting a “meet and greet” event on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the See-Zurh House in Bemus Point. Community members are encouraged to attend. Those in attendance will have an opportunity to learn about the eight projects CLP board of directors are actively involved in. Some of those projects include community outreach, Bemus Bay remediation, weed cutting mitigation, shoreline clean up and herbicide treatments of selected areas.

Commission To Meet Thursday

The Chautauqua County Parks Commission will meet on Thursday at the Robert H. Jackson Airport at 4 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.
