Plunge Planned For Saturday
Family Health Medical Services will host its fourth annual Polar Plunge on Saturday at Lakeside Park in Mayville. Check-in starts at 12:30 p.m. with plunges starting at 2 p.m. Over the last four years, the polar plunge has raised $14,828 for the Food Bank of Western New York to support their member agencies in Chautauqua County in the “Fight Against Hunger.” This year’s event is sponsored by Chautauqua Physical and Occupational Therapy, Independent Health, Smith Boys of Chautauqua, DFT Communications, ServePro of Jamestown/Olean, The Jock Shop, WNY Urology Associates, Akl Medical PC, Chautauqua Liquor and Wine, Crosby’s and Lighthouse Point Grocery.
Quilters Guild To Meet Thursday
WESTFIELD — The Westfield Quilters’ Guild will meet Thursday at 6:30 in the Westfield YWCA. Four of the guild’s experienced quilters will demonstrate and teach one of their favorite techniques. Visitors are welcome to attend.
Intake Planned For Thursday
Music, art, dance, and theater students of all levels are welcome to enroll in private and group lessons. The Infinity Visual and Performing Arts Center will hold a new student orientation and intake session on Thursday. Please contact the Infinity Center at 664-0991 to register for a session and reserve your spot today. Students may also register online at www.infinityperformingarts.org to be contacted for an orientation slot. Orientation sessions last approximately 30 minutes, including a tour of the Infinity Center and opportunities to meet Infinity staff members and schedule lessons. The Infinity Center is located at 301 E. Second St., Suite 101 in the Lynn Building.
Craft Time To Be Held At Church
KENNEDY — Community Craft Time at Kennedy First United Methodist Church will be held today from 10 a.m. to noon in the church fellowship room. The group will work on individual projects. Craft time is open to all adults. There is no registration or fee. For more information, call the church office at 267-2645. The church is located at the corner of Church and Second streets in Kennedy and is handicapped-accessible through the lower side door.
CWC To Host Tour In Woods
On Saturday, Feb. 24, from 1:30-3 p.m., the Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy will host a tour of CWC’s Dobbins’ Woods on Bly Hill Road in North Harmony. Participants may snowshoe or ski for this tour around the mile-long looped trail, weather permitting. Otherwise, participants are asked to wear waterproof boots. The group and friends will re-gather at the Southern Tier Brewing Company after the tour.
Legion To Host Band Saturday
The band New Directions will perform in the Celoron Legion on Saturday evening. The post will also hold a breakfast from 8:30-11:30 a.m. on Sunday. The cost of breakfast is $6 per person.
