Opiod Discussion Set For Feb. 9
CASAC Prevention Works presents Opiod Addiction and Exposure to Infants on Friday, Feb. 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., UPMC Chautauqua WCA auditorium, 207 Foote Ave., Jamestown. Carroll Comp Plan Talk Set
An information meeting hosted by Ken Dahlgren regarding the town of Carroll Comprehensive Plan will be held on Thursday at the Frewsburg Legion at 7 p.m. A legislative hearing with the state Department of Environmental Conservation and Sealand Waste LLC regarding a permit for the Jones-Carroll Landfill will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Frewsburg High School auditorium. If school is closed on Wednesday, the meeting will be held the following day.
About 35 seniors participated in a dish to pass luncheon following by a meeting at the Mayville VFW on Jan. 18. Bonnie Johnson, president, introduced Sandy Wagner, who did devotions. Bonnie then led the Pledge of Allegiance. The Secretary and Treasurer Reports were read as well as a few thank you cards. Door prizes were won by Arlene Kurtz, Carl Witherow, Eileen Hanson, Naomi Wiler and Barb Witherow. The group is scheduled to meet Thursday at noon at the Mayville VFW. Guest speaker will be Trooper Drew Anderson of the New York State Park Police. He will discuss his duties as an officer and of the territories he patrols.
Set For Saturday
ELLINGTON — The Ellington Farman Library will host a Take Your Child To The Library Day party from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. A Peter Rabbit Party will be held from 10:30-11:30 a.m. as the library celebrates Beatrix Potter’s Tales of Peter Rabbit. There will be rabbit-related snacks, crafts and giveaways. After the party there will be time for puzzles in the children’s room, playing with puppets and the Makerspace will be open. Located at 760 Thornton Road in Ellington, the Ellington Farman Library is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call the library at 287-2945.

ELLINGTON — The Ellington Farman Library Board of Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. today. There is time designated for the public to speak at the beginning of each meeting. The library is located at 760 Thornton Road in Ellington and is handicapped accessible.
Library To Make Cards For Vets
KENNEDY — For the second year in a row, the Kennedy Free Library will honor local veterans with a Valentines for Vets card making party on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. All supplies will be provided including refreshments for participants.
