City Council To Meet Tonight
The Jamestown City Council will meet for a work session meeting at 7:30 p.m. today in the mayor’s conference room on the fourth floor of the Jamestown Municipal Building, located at 200 E. Third St. The meeting is open to the public.
Southwestern BOE To Meet
The Southwestern Central School Board will hold a work session meeting on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in board of education room. The meeting is open to the public.
Sewer District Board To Meet
The board of the North Chautauqua Lake Sewer District will meet on Tuesday at 4 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Chautauqua Town room at 2 Academy St. in Mayville. The board will be discussing a possible future rate increase and a date for a public hearing.
Card-Making Event Planned
Valentine cards and bookmarks will be made Wednesday during the Community Craft Time held at Kennedy First United Methodist Church. The cards will be given to residents at Randolph Manor. You also have the option of working on your own project. Craft Time is open to all adults. For more information, please call the church office at 267-2645. The church is located at the corner of Church and Second streets in Kennedy and the lower side door is handicap accessible.
Grange To Meet
Ross Grange will meet on Wednesday at the home of Norm and Opal Sprague on Gerry Levant Road. The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. Refreshments will also be served. Members should note that the meeting time and date have changed.
Outdoor Club To Hike Wednesday
On Wednesday, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will ski or hike the West Overland Trail. Preserve NY Event Planned
Not-for-profit groups and municipalities are invited to attend a free information session on Preserve New York and Technical Assistance Grants, the signature grant programs of the New York State Council on the Arts and the Preservation League. The meeting will be held Monday, Jan. 29, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Jamestown Renaissance Corporation, 301 E. Second St., Jamestown. The Frances Gubler, league’s manager of technical and grant programs, will explain the requirements of the grants, the process of applying, and discuss some successful previous applicants. The meeting will focus on Preserve New York grants and is co-sponsored by Preservation Buffalo Niagara and Jamestown Renaissance Corporation. There is no cost to attend but reservations are required by calling 518-462-5658, ext. 10.
