Kickoff Lunch

Set For Saturday

A volunteer training workshop and lunch to kick off the 2018 Appeal for Catholic Charities in Chautauqua County will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. In addition, a Hero of Hope Partner award will be given to Jenny Tilaro, Northern Chautauqua Catholic School principal, and Vanessa, Catholic Charities client, will share how counseling and basic assistance through Catholic Charities has made a difference in her life. The funds raised for the 2018 Appeal, which carries a goal of $11 million, will help support the 70 programs and services Catholic Charities offers across 61 sites.

Babysitting Clinic Set For Monday

The Jamestown YMCA will hold its next YMCA babysitting clinic for boys and girls, ages 11-16, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday. The clinic will instruct participants about the responsibilities involved in caring for younger children including child development, safety and emergency response. The clinic is taught by experienced instructors who have knowledge in child development, health and overall care of children. Participants should bring a bag lunch. Space is limited. Golden Agers

To Meet Tuesday

The Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers were entertained during their December meeting with a delightful program of Christmas music performed by fifth-grade students from Southwestern Central School. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Lakewood American Legion Post 1286. Guest speaker will be Melissa Trusler from Heritage Village.

Farmland Board To Meet Tuesday

LITTLE VALLEY — The Cattaraugus County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the large committee room on the third floor of the Cattaraugus County Center in Little Valley. The public is welcome to attend.

Soil Board To Meet Wednesday

The Chautauqua County Soil and Water Conservation District board will meet at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in the district offices in the Northcrest Business Park, 220 Fluvanna Ave., Suite 600, Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend.

JCC Board To Meet Tuesday

The Educational Services Committee of the Jamestown Community College Board of Trustees will meet at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Hamilton Collegiate Center boardroom on the Jamestown campus with videoconferencing to the boardrooms on the Cattaraugus County campus and North County Extension Center. The public is welcome to attend.

CPT To Host Back Seminar

Chautauqua Physical and Occupational Therapy will host “Solutions for Back Pain and Sciatica” from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Riverwalk Center, 15 S. Main St., Suite 220. The session is presented by Dr. Patrick Green, Chautauqua Physical and Occupational Therapy founder. Seating is limited to a maximum of 20. For reservations, call 488-2322.
