School Board To Meet On Monday
The Bemus Point School Board will meet on Monday in the cafeteria at Maple Grove Middle-High School at 6 p.m. for its monthly meeting. A public hearing will be held at 5:45 p.m. to discuss a small bonds investment plan. The meeting is open to the public. The school is located at 3980 Dutch Hollow Road in the village of Bemus Point.
Story Hour To
Be Held Saturday
The Sinclairville Free Library invites the public to a special story hour event with local author Kathleen Lombardo which will be held on Saturday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Lombardo will present her recently published picture book: “Clover: The Cow that Didn’t Think She Was a Cow.” This is a story about a girl and her pet cow. Clover doesn’t think she’s a cow. The author will be available to answer questions about Clover and the creation of the book. Cows will be featured in stories and crafts during this special Story Hour for all ages. Children under 8 must be accompanied by a caregiver. The library is located at 15 Main St. in the village of Sinclairville.
Clymer Board Gathers Monday
CLYMER — The Clymer Central School Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Monday. The public is welcome to attend. The school is located at 8672 E. Main St. in Clymer.
Chamber Singers Hosting Concerts
The Chautauqua Chamber Singers will present a 12th Night concert “Once for a Shining Hour, Heav’n Touched Earth” Saturday at First Lutheran Church in Warren, Pa., and Sunday at First Presbyterian Church in Jamestown. The concerts both start at 4 p.m. The 12th Night historically marks the end of the 12 days of Christmas on Jan. 6, which is the feast of the Epiphany. In this Jamestown tradition, the costumed Chautauqua Chamber Singers processing in candlelight, with a bagpipe prelude, supported by traditional readings, will perform stunning choral music both new and old. SW School Board Meets Tuesday
The Southwestern Central School Board will meet on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the board of education room at the middle school. The meeting is open to the public.
JPS Board To Gather Tuesday
The Jamestown Public Schools Board will meet on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the auditorium at Washington Middle School. The school is located at 159 Buffalo St. in Jamestown. The meeting is open to the public.
Library To Host Wellness Shop
KENNEDY — The Kennedy Free Library will host a health and wellness workshop at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, with Trish Whetstone, a prevention educator with the Chautauqua Alcohol Substance and Abuse Council. Whetstone will share tips for achieving health and wellness, how to choose the exercise that works for each person, stress reduction, avoiding drug and alcohol abuse and how to get a better night’s sleep. The public is welcome to attend. Refreshments will be provided for attendees.
