Spaghetti Dinner At Fire Dept.

A spaghetti dinner will be held on Saturday at the Fluvanna Fire Department from 4:30-7 p.m. The meal cost $8 for adults and $5 for children under 5, and will be made by Joe Conti. The dinner will benefit the Maple Grove girls basketball team.

Outdoor Club To Meet Saturday

On Saturday, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will hike or ski four miles on the trails at the Jamestown Audubon Community Nature Center as part of the center’s annual Snowflake Festival. Participants will meet at the kiosk in front of the main building at 2 p.m. For more information call John Young at 814-730-2915.

Music Club To Gather Thursday

FREDONIA — The State University at Fredonia’s Ethos New Music Society will present a concert by Latitude 49 on Thursday at 8 p.m. in Rosch Recital Hall. Latitude 49 is a dynamic mixed-chamber ensemble exploring new sounds, engaging diverse audiences, and collaborating with contemporary composers. From its beginnings in Michigan, L49 has grown into a major presence on the new-music scene with performances and residencies throughout the Midwest and beyond. The concert is free and MUS 120 credit will be offered.

Library To Offer Events Saturday

The Lakewood Library, 12 W. Summit St., will host a “Take Your Child to the Library Day” on Saturday. Activities, treats and prizes will be offered. A special library-and-book-themed story time will also take place from 11 a.m. to noon. The library’s Harry Potter Club meets Fridays, from 4-5 p.m. Club activities will include Harry Potter trivia, discussion of the books and films, and themed foods and treats. All ages are welcome. Free computer classes are also offered Thursdays from 2:30-3:30 p.m.

BOCES Receives Federal Grant

OLEAN — Cattaraugus-Allegany BOCES has been awarded a $466,686 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The grant, known as the Rural Utility Service Distance Learning Grant, will be implemented by CABOCES and 11 area school districts to upgrade video conferencing equipment and other technologies. The upgrades will provide new portable, high definition video conference capabilities to all three BOCES Career and Technical Education Centers, as well as the school districts of Belfast, Bolivar-Richburg, Cuba-Rushford, Franklinville, Friendship, Genesee Valley, Hinsdale, Olean, Salamanca, Scio, and Wellsville. Grant implementation will begin immediately.

Golden Agers

To Meet Feb. 8

LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers will host the Feb. 8 meeting for the United Senior Council of Chautauqua County at 10 a.m. at Lakewood American Legion Post 1286. Anyone 50 years or older is invited to attend. For more information, call 763-0544.

A Pancake Brunch at Villenova Grange, Balcom Corners, South Dayton will be held on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The cost is $7 for a small and $8 for a large.
