Prayer Time For Falconer Fire

Due to the fire in the village of Falconer this past Sunday, Falconer churches will hold a Community Prayer Time at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Falconer First Baptist Church, corner of Falconer Street and Homestead Avenue. This service will be held to offer prayers for those who have lost so much and face uncertain times ahead and to thank all the firemen and women who gave and continue to give of themselves to protect our community.

Rehearsals For ‘Pippin’ Ongoing

Rehearsals are underway for Cattaraugus County Living Arts Association’s February production of “Pippin,” to be performed at Salamanca’s Ray Evans Seneca Theater, 10 Main St. The 20-member show features Talia Van Druff as the leading player and Chris Borland as Pippin. The show will be performed at 7 p.m. Feb. 16, 17, 23, 24 and at 2 p.m. Feb. 18 and 25. Tickets are $15 at the door and can also be purchased by visiting showclix.com/event/Pippin2018. MS Rap Group Meets Saturday

Is there an upside to living with Multiple Sclerosis? Come to the Chautauqua Regional Multiple Sclerosis rap group from 9:30-11:30 q.m. Saturday in the Jones Hill Memorial Rehabilitation Center, first floor, 51 Glasgow Ave., Jamestown. This semi-structured support group has the goal of being both informative and fun. Snacks are provided. Those affected by the disease, including family and friends, are welcome to attend. For more information, directions or for peer support, contact Debbie Lane at 962-9401.

Senior Group To Meet Feb. 13

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Senior Citizens met recently for the New Year’s luncheon and a meeting in the Sinclairville Firehall Dining room. The minutes from the December meeting, recorded by LouAnn Smith, were read. Treasurer Charles Sylvester read the treasurer’s report. Dues for 2018 were collected. Pastor Shay told a story of a teacher helping a student to put on his boots, which after a struggle, the student had left his gloves inside the boots. The next gathering of the group will be at the Sinclairville Firehall Dining Room on Tuesday, Feb. 13, at noon. New members are always welcome.

Nominees For Award Sought

Nominations are sought for the 2018 Distinguished Alumnus Award given by Jamestown Community College alumni associations at the Jamestown and Cattaraugus County campuses. The award is given to those who have typified the college’s tradition of excellence. Nominees may have graduated from either the Jamestown or Cattaraugus County Campus. Nominations are due by March 7. Those who wish to nominate someone are encouraged to access an online nomination form available at www.sunyjcc.edu/alumni. Nominators can also request that a nomination form be emailed or mailed to them. Contact the alumni relations office at 338-1056 or alumni@mail.sunyjcc.edu for more information.
