Health Workshop Set For Saturday
The Kennedy Free Library will host a Health and Wellness workshop on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. Trish Whetsone, a prevention educator who works with CASAC, will lead the program, discussing many different ways a person can be the best that they can be in the new year. All ages will be welcome at the workshop. Kennedy Free Library Director Maggie Ruth said she was looking forward to the workshop, and enjoys being able to bring programs to Kennedy that can help make a better-informed community.
Ripley Church To Hold Breakfast
The Ripley United Methodist Church, 84 W. Main St., Ripley will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 7:30-11 a.m. on Sunday. Included will be pancakes, sausage, bacon, made-to-order eggs and omelets, home fries, biscuits and sausage gravy, orange juice and coffee. The cost is $7. Proceeds will benefit the South Ripley Cemetery Association.
City Seniors To Meet Jan. 23
Jamestown Senior Center members will meet on Jan. 23 in Brookdale. The guest speaker will be from Brookdale. Snacks will be served.
Outdoor Club To Meet Sunday
TIDIOUTE — On Sunday, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will hike or ski at Economite Road in Tidioute. Participants will meet at Musante Street in Warren at 1:30 p.m. For more information, call Greg Burkett at 814-723-4989.
Summer Music Camp Planned
CHAUTAUQUA — The Chautauqua Music camps will be held this summer. This year, for the first time, all camp information and registration will be available on the Chautauqua Institution website at chq.org. Interested applicants can click on the Festival Schools tab. The camp takes place during the eighth week of the Chautauqua season on the grounds of Chautauqua Institution. It features middle school band, high school string orchestra, and high school jazz ensemble. All interested young musicians are encouraged to apply.
New Albion Sets Meeting Dates
The Town of New Albion Regular Town Council Meetings are held the third Monday of each month as follows: Jan. 15, Feb. 19, March 19, April 16, May 21, June 18, July 16, Aug. 20, Sept. 17, Oct. 15, Nov. 19, Dec. 17.
French Creek To Meet Jan. 15
FRENCH CREEK — The French Creek Town Board’s organizational’ meeting scheduled for Jan. 8 has been moved to Jan. 15. The public is welcome to attend.
Sip And Paint Set For Feb. 6
ELLINGTON — The Ellington Farman Library is holding a “Sip ‘n Paint” fundraiser at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6. The cost is $35 a person and includes painting supplies, instruction and refreshments which include a variety of wines and light snacks. Laurel Austin-Smith will be the art instructor for the acrylic class. She is a resident of Ellington and an active volunteer for the Ellington Volunteer Fire Department. She is retired from teaching special education at the Gustavus Adolphus Learning Center. She enjoys many creative activities including painting, photography and crafts. Her paintings have been sold in various festivals and benefits. Reservations are requested by Jan. 30. The class is limited to 25 participants. Located at 760 Thornton Road in Ellington, the Ellington Farman Library is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. For reservations, call 287-2945.
