Beekeepers To Meet Thursday
The January meeting of the Chautauqua County Beekeepers Association will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Frank Bratt Ag Center on Turner Road on Airport Hill in Jamestown. The meeting is open to the public.
A public hearing on “The Smart Bonds Investment Plan” will be held at 5:45 p.m. in the cafeteria at Maple Grove Junior-Senior High School, 3980 Dutch Hollow Road, Bemus Point, on Monday, preceding the monthly board meeting. The public is welcome to attend.
Driving Course Set For Monday
A five-hour pre-licensing driving course will be held at Frewsburg High School on Monday from 5-10 p.m. The cost is $25. Preregister by calling the guidance office at 569-7026 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. When calling, please make sure you have your permit on hand.
Advent Dinner Held Recently
The Altar and Rosary Society of St. Dominic Roman Catholic Church of Westfield and Brocton held their annual Advent Dinner on Dec. 17 at the Westfield site and catered by Fred’s Catering Service from Fredonia. Besides the society members the Rev. Romeo Hontiveros, Msgr. Albert Clody and the Rev. Joseph Walter attended the dinner. Door prizes were donated my Johnson Estate Winery of Westfield and the winners were: Mary Ann Ellington and Rosie Giambra. Everyone enjoyed the dinner and games that followed.
Infinity Fundraiser Set For March 10
Infinity’s Art Market and Auction is an annual event that supports area artists by giving them a market to showcase and sell their arts, all while raising funds to support youth music and arts instruction at the Infinity Visual and Performing Arts Center. The fundraiser, which is held at the Infinity Arts Cafe, will take place on Saturday, March 10. This year’s Art Auction will feature a chainsaw carving by Vince Liuzzo and a collection of pottery and ceramic art donated to Infinity by Carol Hay, and created by the late Douglas Hay. City Tree Pickup Starts Monday
The City Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department would like to announce that beginning on Monday, weather permitting, the Parks Department Crews will begin their annual pick-up of discarded Christmas Trees for Recycling. Residents are urged to place their tree on the terrace between the street and sidewalk and, if possible, to keep visible should a large snowfall occur. All trees should be removed from plastic bags, Christmas lights and tree stands. Anyone having questions is asked to contact the Parks and Recreation Office at 483-7573.
