Church To Hold Christmas Dinner

The Kennedy United Methodist Church invites anyone to share a Christmas Day Dinner from 1:30-3:30 p.m.with others, at no cost. If you are alone for Christmas, cannot afford to make a nice meal for your family or just want to join with us to celebrate the day, you are welcome to attend.

WNY Food Bank To Service Pantry

The Bethlehem Lutheran Church Food Pantry, 20 North Phetteplace St., corner of West Main Street and Phetteplace Street, Falconer, is now being serviced by the Food Bank of Western New York. The pantry is open to residents of the Falconer school district from 9-11 a.m. each Tuesday and Thursday. Proof of residency and income is required. For more information, call 665-2102.

Christmas Eve Service Planned

WESTFIELD — A communitywide Noel Candlelight Christmas Eve service, celebrating the birth of Jesus, will be held at 11 p.m. Sunday in Eason Hall, 23 Elm St., Westfield. Symbolically beginning in darkness, the candlelight service focuses on the Light of the World coming to redeem! All are welcome to come and witness Christmas through scripture, song, drama and handbells. Featured will be youth and adults from Westfield, Mayville and Sherman. The service is organized and directed by Kent and Nannette Knappenberger. In past years, the more than 40 youth and adult member choir participants represented as many as 13 different churches. Offerings from the evening service will benefit the Westfield Ministerial Association and the community.

FLUVANNA — The Antique Auto Club will meet the third Wednesday of each month at the War Vets club in Fluvanna. Those attending do not need to own an antique car to belong. For more information, call Greg Press at 287-3754.

Thrift Shop

Now Open

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St. between East Fourth and East Fifth streets, Jamestown, will have a storewide half-price sale on all clothing in all departments. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday and Friday. The shop will be closed Saturday. Donations are accepted from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays or during open hours. Those with large donations are asked to call ahead. Off-street parking is available in the church lot off East Fifth Street. The all-volunteer staff includes many from RSVP. Proceeds are used locally.


Meet Today

The Jamestown Local Development Corp. is scheduled to meet on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. in the mayor’s conference room on the fourth floor of the Municipal Building. The public is welcome to attend.

Of ’68 To Meet

The Jamestown High School Class of 1968 will hold its annual Christmas dinner on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Landmark Restaurant. All classmates and their guests are invited to attend.
