Southwestern BOE To Meet

The Southwestern Central School Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the board room to review the upcoming capital project and energy performance contract. The public is welcome to attend.

Historical Society To Hold Dinner

BUSTI — Busti Historical Society members will hold their traditional holiday dinner at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the kitchen meeting room of the Busti Museum Building next to the mill. All members and those interested in membership are invited to attend. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to pass and table service. The room has been remodeled since last year and will be decorated with a Christmas theme.

Library Fundraiser Set For Thursday

The Prendergast Library continues its fundraising efforts with its “Wine and Craft Night,” to be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. The featured craft is a design-your-own birdhouse, made out of books. Admission is $20, which includes all refreshments and materials. Walk-ins are welcome. Call 484-7135 ext. 225 with any questions.

Ellery Seniors

To Meet Friday

The Ellery Senior Citizens met recently at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Bemus Point. A Thanksgiving tureen dinner was enjoyed by members. Pete Carlo opened the business meeting with the Flag Salute and introduced his wife, Mary Ann, and nine other ladieswho are all members of the Falconer Seniors group. Welcomed as new members were JoAnne Capizzi, Fran Bishop, Mary O’Boyle, Josephine Cantali, Josie Steele, Josie Costantino and Mary Volpe. Bob Garretson, Marty Hunt, Betty Lou Cheney and Joyce Rhinehart celebrated birthdays. Next meeting will be Christmas dinner on Friday at 12:30 p.m. at the church. It will be catered by Debbie Stearns from Classic Occasions. Chautauqua Shores Chorus, a group of ladies who sing barbershop style, will provide the musical program. Open Mic Night Set For Thursday

The Infinity Visual and Performing Arts Center will host Pulse Poetry Slam Open Mic Night on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Infinity Arts Cafe. Poets and audience-members are welcome. Pulse Poetry Slam events are free, family friendly, and open to the public. Performance poetry is a way to express creativity while practicing performance and public speaking. The Infinity Arts Cafe performance entrance is located at 300 E. Third St. in Jamestown.

Beekeepers To Meet Thursday

The December meeting of the Chautauqua County Beekeepers Association will be held at the Frank Bratt Ag Center, Turner Road, Jamestown, at 7 p.m. Thursday. The agenda includes a brief presentation from the local USDA representative regarding some federal programs to beekeepers such as the ELAP program and the Farm Storage Loan Program. The meeting will also be the group’s annual Christmas gathering. The public is invited to attend, though those attending should bring a dish to pass.
