MHA Announces Holiday Hours

The Mental Health Association announced holiday hours. Offices will be open for normal business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 22 and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 23. The office be closed on Monday, Dec. 25 and reopen for normal hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 26.

Driving Course Offered Monday

FREWSBURG — A five-hour pre-licensing driving course will be held at Frewsburg High School from 5-10 p.m. Monday. The cost is $25. Pre-register by calling the guidance office at 569-7026 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Those calling should have their learner’s permit on hand.

Santa Claus To Visit Saturday

The Cherry Creek Junior Firefighters will sponsor a visit from Santa Claus from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday in the Cherry Creek Fire Hall.

Sunday School To Present Play

The Conewango Valley United Methodist Church Children’s Sunday School will present their play, “A Christmas Story,” at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. A “children friendly” fellowship follows. Persons attending should take a dish to pass. All are welcome to attend.

Church To Host

‘Blue Christmas’

The Kiantone congregational Church will host a “Blue Christmas” service for the Kiantone and Frewsburg area churches and community at 6 p.m. Sunday. This service is to help those who find the holiday difficult. Special music will be provided by Dave and Patty Bush and an ensemble will perform “Coventry Carol.” Marc Samworth, pastor of the Frewsburg Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, will have a special candle lighting moment. Refreshments will be served following the service.

Food Pantry To Close Christmas

The Twice Fed Food Pantry, Cherry Creek, will be closed on Monday, Dec. 25. It will reopen for clients on Tuesday, Dec. 26. The pantry will also be closed on Monday, Jan. 1, 2018 and reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 2.

Sewer Board To Meet Tuesday

MAYVILLE — The North Chautauqua Lake Sewer District board will hold a board meeting and work session to discuss a possible user rate increase and go over an update on the phosphorus upgrade project. The meeting will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Chautauqua town meeting room, 2 Academy St., Mayville. The public is welcome to attend the meeting.

Library To Host Harry Potter Club

The Lakewood Memorial Library will be holding the first meeting for the Harry Potter club on Thursday, Dec. 28, from 3-4 p.m. Club activities will include Harry Potter trivia, discussion of the books and films, and themed foods and treats. Dates and times for future meetings will be determined on Dec. 28. All ages are welcome to attend the meeting. The library is located at 12 W. Summit St. in Lakewood.
