Historical Society Party Is Saturday

RED HOUSE — The Allegany State Park Historical Society invites the public to their “Annual ASPHS Christmas Party” that will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. The event will be held in the classroom building at Camp Allegany, the group camp located off of ASP Route 2, just past Red House Lake. The event will feature Sally Marsh, who is known to some as the Hootenanny Lady and has the Christmas Spirit all year round. Marsh will be singing Christmas songs and encouraging anyone who would like to sing a holiday song to belt one out.

Retired Group Meets Thursday

WARREN — The Barton-Schuler Chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees will meet for its annual Christmas party on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Variety Buffet in the Commons area in North Warren. Those attending will purchase their own lunch. There will be drawings for prizes and gifts. Guests are welcome. A short business meeting will also be held. Annual Christmas Dinner Saturday

FALCONER — Thule Lodge 127 will hold its annual Christmas dinner at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bethlehem Lutheran Church on North Phetteplace Avenue in Falconer. The annual dinner is known as the Dopp I Gryta which means the dipping of the breads. Several kinds of bread will be served with a dipping sauce, along with ham, korv, beets, hard boiled eggs, pickled herring, cheeses, potatoes and many different kinds of cookies. The public is welcome to attend. New members are welcome to attend.

Outdoor Club Meets Thursday

On Thursday, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will do trail maintenance on the Toms Run Trail at Hearts Content on the Allegheny National Forest. Participants will meet at the Toms Run Trailhead at 9:30 a.m. The group has received reports that there are a number of trees down across the trail, and of course with snow on the way the group needs to clear the trail for area cross-country skiers. Library Open House Is Friday

FLUVANNA — The Fluvanna Free Library will host its annual open house on Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The open house will include food and music. For more information, visit the library or call 487-1773 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The library is located next to the Fluvanna Fire Department.

Breakfast With Santa Saturday

MAYVILLE — Peacock Lodge 696, 114 S Erie St., Mayville, will host a breakfast with Santa from 8-11 a.m. Saturday. The public is invited to attend. Breakfast includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, home fries, juice, milk and coffee. Tickets are $9 for adults and $5 for children ages 3 to 12. Children ages 2 and under are admitted free. Anyone who wants photos with Santa Claus should bring their camera.

Town Board To Gather Dec. 27

ELLINGTON — The Ellington Town Board will have its year-end meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 27, at 7 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.
