Evening With Plyler Planned
An evening with Robert Plyler will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. inside the Westfield Presbyterian Church, 49 S. Portage St., Westfield. Plyler, a fine arts critic featured in The Post-Journal and author of “The Critical Eye,” will make a presentation and hold a question and answer session for art enthusiasts. Student Earns Scholarship
A Chautauqua County resident has been awarded a $9,500 “All-American Scholarship” to attend Alfred State. Alyssa Graziano of Forestville is slated to graduate in 2018 from Forestville Central School and intends to enroll in the veterinary technology program. The All-American Scholarship provides free board with a 14-meal plan to students who must possess an 89 (3.3 on 4.0 scale) or better cumulative high school average through their junior year; at least a 1220 combined reading/writing and math SAT or 24 composite ACT score is required. Recipients must maintain a required grade point average to continue to receive free board in subsequent semesters.
Food Truck Arrives Tuesday
ASHVILLE — The Food Bank of Western New York mobile pantry truck from Buffalo will be at the Ashville United Methodist Church Tuesday. Open hours are 9:30 a.m. to noon and 3-5 p.m. The truck brings fresh produce and some stable items. To receive this free food proof of address showing you reside at one of the following zip codes is required: Ashville 14710, Bemus Point 14712, Celoron 14720, Lakewood 14750, Niobe 14758, Panama 14767, Stow 14785 and anyone who lives in the town of Busti. Randolph To Host Holiday Event
Randolph’s Country Christmas weekend will be held Friday through Sunday. Events include: Cookie House, 9 a.m. at Presbyterian Church; Santa and Mrs. Claus, Randolph Library, 3-5 p.m.; Christmas Parade, Main Street, 6 p.m.; and Memory Tree Ceremony, Triangle Park, 7:30 p.m. Living Nativity, E.R. United Methodist Church, 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday. A final performance will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday.
Christmas Bazaar Planned
SHERMAN — The Stanley Hose Auxiliary is hosting a Christmas Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Stanley Hose Fire Company. There is also an art show that the school students are participating in that is being sponsored by the Sherman Chamber of Commerce. Activities include story time with Elf Mary throughout the day, a photo and tree decorating contest, evening activities for all ages, lunch with the Grinch and Cindy Lou at the fire hall, a Yorkers Historical Display, Breakfast with Santa at Sherman Central School, the art show by local artists sponsored by the Sherman Chamber of Commerce, red bows in memory of loved ones are being sold by the Sherman Chamber of Commerce to go on the tree at the gazebo for the tree lighting ceremony on Friday at 6:30 p.m., and a tureen dinner at the fire hall on Sunday.
