George Miller To Perform Sunday

George Miller, a classically trained vocalist, will perform in concert in the United Methodist Church of Ripley at 9:30 a.m. Sunday and in the South Ripley UMC at 11 a.m. Miller has served the Lord in many areas including mission work in several parts of the world through concerts, song and testimony, often in orphanages in the Ukraine, Albania, Greece, Cuba, Africa and the United States. His mission and compassion is the lives of people. He loves to bring the message of encouragement and salvation through the ministry of music to draw people closer to God and recorded four compact discs. Their is no charge to attend, but a donation or offering will be accepted.

No Luncheon This Year At St. Luke’s

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 410 N. Main St. in Jamestown has announced that it will not be holding its annual holiday “Shoppers’ Luncheon” in November this year due to the timing of their recent construction project. The staff and volunteers at St. Luke’s express their appreciation to their loyal participants for their many years of support.

The Stiff Family To Minister Saturday

The Falconer First Baptist Church will host The Stiff Family and their ministry of Gospel Bluegrass on Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m. This is the first time the group will minister in New York State. Their music reflects their love for Jesus Christ and His love for us.

Spaghetti Dinner Set For Saturday

The Pilgrim Memorial and First Congregational United Church of Christ, corner of McKinley and Forest Avenues, Jamestown, will hold a Spaghetti Dinner and Bake Sale from 4:30-7 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $7 each. Children, ages 5 and under, are free. Take-outs are available. Use the Forest Avenue entrance.

Ripley Breakfast Set For Saturday

The Ripley United Methodist Church, 84 W. Main St., Ripley, will host an all-you-can eat breakfast from 7:30-11 a.m. on Saturday. Included will be pancakes, sausage, bacon, made-to-order eggs and omelets, home fries, biscuits and sausage gravy, orange juice and coffee. The cost is $7 per person. Proceeds will benefit the Kid’s Konxion Afterschool Program.

Legion Post To Hold Raffle

The Herman Kent American Legion Post 777 in Celoron will hold a turkey raffle on Friday and Saturday evening. Rumba classes are held each Saturday morning. The Smokehouse Band will perform on Saturday evening and the post breakfast is Sunday morning. A World War II League will be at the post on Monday at 6 p.m.

Ross Grange To Meet Monday

Ross Grange will meet at the Falcon’s Nest Banquet Hall Monday with a tureen meal at 6 p.m. Those attending should bring a dish to share. Details of the annual Holiday Happenings Craft Show, Saturday, Nov. 18, will be arranged. Admission is free and includes many crafters, a Chinese auction and bake sale. Lunch is available with a variety of foods including homemade pie. Betty Wakefield was a voting delegate to the annual State Grange Session in Auburn Oct. 20-24 and will share her experiences with members.
