Church To Host Themed Program

FREWSBURG — The Myers Memorial Libray in Frewsburg will host several Christmas programs in December. The first is a holiday-themed magic show at 11 a.m. Saturday. Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will visit the library on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 11 a.m. to meet with children and read Christmas stories.All events are free and open to the public. Auxiliary To Hold Winter Bazaar

KIANTONE — The Kiantone Fire Department Auxiliary will host its winter bazaar from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Kiantone Fire Hall on Route 60. Lunch will be available.

YMCA To Host Annual Workshop

Santa Claus is coming to the Jamestown Area YMCA’s downtown branch Friday during the YMCA’s annual Santa’s Family Workshop from 7-9 p.m. Events will include craft/ornament making tables, face painting and holiday tattoos, a Christmas sing-along, Big Challenge Obstacle Course, holiday games, cookie frost and a visit from Santa Claus and other costumed characters. The cost is $1 per person, with children ages 2 and under admitted free. Open House At RPTI Saturday

The Roger Tory Peterson Institute will host a holiday open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday as part of Swedish Christmas Market Day in Jamestown, Julmarknad, organized by the Scandinavian Studies Program at Jamestown Community College. There will be free admission, light refreshments, a chance to win a gift bag filled with nature-themed items and a silent auctions for signed, limited-edition Peterson artist prints.

Ripley BOE Meets Today

RIPLEY — The Ripley Central School Board of Education will meet at 6:30 p.m. today in the Research Library, Room 204, of Ripley Central School. The public is welcome to attend.

Church Concert Planned Sunday

WESTFIELD — The West Portland Baptist Church, 7081 East Route 20, Westfield, will host a community Christmas concert at 4 p.m. Sunday featuring Greta Brokaw from the Rochester area. Brokaw is a soloist who minsters throughout Western New York in churches, conferences and special events and also is an author of women’s devotional books. Her ministry is called “Heart Medicine.” Immediately following the concert there will a fellowship dinner served in the church activity center. There is no charge for the event and everyone is welcome.

Legion To Host Annual Auction

LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood American Legion Post 1286 Auxiliary, 174 Chautauqua Ave., Lakewood, will host a Christmas auction on Sunday. Doors open at 2 p.m. and the auction starts at 3 p.m. The auction is open to the public, with food available. Proceeds will benefit Wings Flight of Hope.
