Book Proceeds To Go To Charity
Just in time for Christmas giving, a little book of original verses of faith is being offered by Ann Dahl Luce. Proceeds will be donated to a charity based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, called One Nation Walking Together, which serves the poorest of the poor western Native Americans in seven surrounding states on eleven reservations. Ninety-five cents of every dollar donated to the group goes to provide necessities and programs. Books will be available at a book signing at the Randolph Library on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will also be copies at the Randolph Holiday Arts and Crafts Show on Saturday as well as at the Cookie House that day at the Randolph United Presbyterian Church, or you may call 358-9088.
Five-Hour Course Planned Monday
A five-hour pre-licensing driving course will be held at Frewsburg High School on Monday from 5-10 p.m. The cost is $25. Preregister by calling the guidance office at 569-7026 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. When calling, please make sure to have the student’s permit on hand.
Santa To Appear At Jamestown Y
Santa Claus will be at the Jamestown Area YMCA’s downtown location Friday during the Y’s Annual Santa’s Family Workshop from 7-9 p.m. This year’s events will include: craft/ornament making tables, face painting, holiday tattoos, Christmas sing-a-long, Big Challenge Obstacle Course, holiday games and cookie frost. The Cost is only $1 per person and 2 and under are free. Church To Show Christmas Movie
The Conewango Valley UMC Children’s Sunday school will present “A Christmas Story” on Dec. 17 at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend. There will be a children’s friendly fellowship afterward. Those attending should bring a dish to pass. All are welcome to attend.
Allegany To Host Adventure Series
Allegany State Park will host the next in its Outdoor Adventure Series on Wednesday, Dec. 6. The free clinics are led by an outdoor enthusiast who shares their knowledge of and passion for their favorite activity. They bring their gear, discuss what is needed to get started and then let those attending try the activity. On Dec. 6, from 5-6:30 p.m., the park will host “Prepare For Cross-Country Ski Season” in the Summit Warming Hut. Allegany Nordic will discuss everything one needs to know about cross country skiing, from equipment selection to proper clothing.
School Board To Meet Wednesday
The Randolph Central School Board will hold a special meeting on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. for the purpose of interviewing candidates for the vacant position of school business official.
Parish To Gather For Dinner Dec. 6
The Altar and Rosary Society of Holy Apostles Parish will meet for a Christmas lunch on Wednesday, Dec. 6, following the 12:10 p.m. Mass in Ss. Peter and Paul Church.
