Pauline Whitcomb To Celebrate 95th

A 95th birthday celebration for Pauline Whitcomb will be celebrated on Sunday at the Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church, 385 S. Main St., in Jamestown, from 2-5 p.m. The public is welcome to attend the celebration. Pauline’s birthday is on Tuesday.

CCPC To Meet On Thursday

The Chautauqua County Parks Commission will meet at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Robert H. Jackson Airport. The public is invited to attend.

Falconer Seniors To Meet Monday

The Falconer Seniors will meet for pizza at noon on Monday in the Falconer Senior Center building, followed by an important meeting. Discussion will be on the future of the club and members are encouraged to attend. Attorney Chuck Deangelo will be the guest speaker. For more information, call 484-0516.

JRC To Hold Open House

The Jamestown Renaissance Corporation will host an open house at its new office in the Lynn Building, 301 E Second St., Suite 301, Jamestown, from 2-5 p.m. Friday. “We are excited about our new space and can’t wait to share it with community members,” said Lisa Hatch, executive director. JRC was previously located in the Lillian V. Ney Renaissance Center. Last month, the team relocated to make room for the new Jamestown Brewing Company that will take over the building in the coming months. Labor Day Festival Committee To Meet

The Labor Day Festival Committee will hold its final organizational meeting at 2 p.m. today at the Bergman Park Pavilion to discuss final preparations for the 38th Annual Labor Day Festival. Final Poland Trip Set For Oct. 5

The last trip for the town of Poland will be Thursday, Oct. 5, to the Tioga Railroad and Pine Creek Gorge in Wellsboro, Pa., also known as the Grand Canyon of the East. The trip includes stops at a museum, blacksmith shop and other attractions. Lunch will be provided on the train ride. The cost is $96, and anyone with further information is asked to call 358-4978.

Ross Grange Picnic Is Tuesday

Ross Grange recently met to plan the annual calendar of activities and committees. The picnic will be hosted by Leona Peterson at her home in Gerry on Tuesday, a change from original plans. The meal will be served at 6 p.m. with swimming available earlier. Hot dogs, beverages and table service will be provided. Those attending should bring a dish to share. The next regular meeting will be Sept. 11 at the Falcon’s Nest Banquet Hall with the 7:30 p.m. meeting proceeded by a tureen meal at 6:30 p.m.

Dangerbird To Perform Saturday

Lakewood Legion Post 1286 will be hosting the band Dangerbird on Saturday from 6-10 p.m. All members and guests are welcome, please sign in.
