CCPC To Hold Meeting Today

The Chautauqua County Parks Commission will hold its monthly meeting today at the Robert H. Jackson Airport in Jamestown. The public is invited to attend.

Church Chicken BBQ Is Saturday

The Magnolia United Methodist Church, 3969 Route 394, north of Stow, will hold a chicken barbecue from 3-7 p.m. on Saturday. The meal includes chicken from 3C’s, potato salad, applesauce, roll, pie and beverage The cost is $8.50 for adults and $4 for children. Take-outs will be available. There will also be a bake sale table.

‘Crossfire’ To Perform Saturday

“Crossfire” will perform on Saturday in the Herman Kent Legion Post. A steak fry will be on Sunday.

Olson Family Holds Reunion

The 22nd Olson family reunion was held in Viking Lake Park on Chautauqua Lake. Traveling the farthest were Greg and Linda Olson, natalie and Ruby Marcus and Jah-rel of Denver, Colo. The oldest person attending was Barbara Garfield and the youngest, Colten Tibbitts, the son of Shawn Tibbitts. Photo albums with pictures of Swedish relatives were displayed and a memory book of childhood memories was started. Barbara Garfield gave the blessing before the picnic meal. Congratulations were extended to Nolan Eggleston, the son of Mia Garfield and grandson of Barbara Garfield, on his graduation from Panama Central School. Michele Jones was thanked for ordering T-shirts with the reunion logo. The annual 23rd reunion will be held the next Sunday in June 2018.

Sacred Heart To Hold Barbecue

LAKEWOOD — Sacred Heart Church will hold a chicken barbecue on Sunday on the church grounds by Wal-Mart in Lakewood from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or until sold out. The cost of the meal, which will include chicken, two sides, roll, cookies, and bottled water, is $9 per person. All pre-sale meals must be picked up by 1 p.m. Tickets are available through Friday at the parish office (763-2815) or at the barbecue.

Ellery Seniors

To Meet Aug. 11

The Ellery Senior Citizens met in June and July at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Bemus Point. The business meetings were led by Marty Hunt, president, and began with the flag salute. Ola Olson led devotions and Miriam Price, Mary Carpenter and Helen Ingerson celebrated birthdays. In June, Ned Ward was the guest speaker whose program was “Strange Water Crafts of Chautauqua Lake.” In July, the program speaker was Pastor Kristen Allen of the Bemus Point United Methodist Church who presented a slide program about her recent trip to Iona, Scotland. The next meeting will be a chicken barbecue on Friday, Aug. 11 at noon, catered by Debbie Stearns, Classic Occasions. Applications Open For Bible School

Registration is being accepted for the Ross Mills Church vacation Bible school from July 31 to Aug. 4. To register or for more information, visit RossMillsChurch.com or call 720-0916. Those attending should use Gerry-Levant Road to get to the church because the bridge on Ross Mills Road is under construction and will not be open.
