Town Halls To

Be Held By Reed

Rep. Tom Reed is scheduled to hold town hall meetings Saturday in North Harmony and Cherry Creek. The meeting in North Harmony is slated to begin at 9:15 a.m. at the North Harmony Senior Citizens Center at 5377 Stow Ferry Road in Ashville. At 11:30 a.m., Reed, R-Corning, will be at the Pine Valley VFW Post 2522, located at 7117 Route 83 in Cherry Creek. The meetings will be the first for Reed since winning re-election in the November general election.

Pasta Dinner To Be Held Monday

Impact Campus Fellowship will host a benefit pasta dinner from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Monday at Saint James Church Hall on 27 Allen St. The proceeds will go directly to Impact, and will help fund the work of Jon Bogue, assembly speaker and coordinator for Impact. All meals are $10 and include pasta, meatballs, salad, dessert and a beverage. Take out is also available. Please enter the hall from the back parking lot.

Lenten Fish Fry To Be Offered

Holy Apostle of St. John’s Church will start its Lenten fish fry on Friday, Feb. 24. There will be battered and broiled fish, shrimp and fish and shrimp combos for $10. Child portions are $8. Vegetable lasagna is $8. Carry-out orders are available. For more information, call 484-8554. The fish fry continues each Friday through Lent, except for Good Friday.

Ross Grange To Gather Feb. 25

Ross Grange made plans to host the county Pomona Grange at the Falcon’s Nest Banquet Hall on Feb. 25. Committees will meet at 11 a.m. with lunch served at noon. A white elephant auction will follow with the meeting at 1 p.m. Elaine Melquist and Velma Jones served refreshments prior to the Feb. 13 meeting. The charter was draped in memory of Mary Carlberg. A letter was received announcing a membership meeting at State Headquarters in Cortland. Thanks was received from Cassadaga Valley School for hats and mittens received at Christmas time. A donation was voted for the After Prom and Senior Vigil committee of Falconer Central High School. Ross Grange by-laws changes were made and will be voted on at the Feb. 27 meeting. Those wishing a copy to review should contact Mary Jane Griffith. Betty Wakefield will be refreshment hostess at that meeting.

Scoop Dinner To Be Held Saturday

CHERRY CREEK — The Cherry Creek/Leon United Methodist Church, Main Street, Cherry Creek, will host a Scoop Dinner and Wrapped Gift Auction on Saturday. The dinner begins at 4:30 p.m. while the auction begins at 6 p.m. The cost is a donation.

Spaghetti Dinner Saturday In City

A spaghetti dinner fundraiser will be held on Saturday from 1-5 p.m. at the New Hope Community Church, 80 City View Ave. (across from Bergman Park) in Jamestown. The benefit is for 22-year-old Skyler Tritapoe (stepson of Merle Spinler), who was diagnosed in October with Burkett’s lymphoma in his small intestine that requires chemotherapy. He has not been able to work since August and has to travel to Buffalo for his treatments. The cost of the dinner is $10; children under 5 eat free.
