JCC Trustees

To Meet Tuesday

The next meeting of the Jamestown Community College Board of Trustees will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday in the Hamilton Collegiate Center boardroom on the Jamestown Campus with videoconferencing to the boardrooms on the Cattaraugus County Campus and North County Extension Center.

JPS Board To Meet Tuesday

The Jamestown School Board of Education will hold a regular meeting on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Board Room, 197 Martin Road, Jamestown. The meeting is open to the public.

Drama Club To Perform Today

Pine Valley Drama Club presents its elementary performance of “Go West!” today at 7 p.m. in the Pine Valley High School Auditorium. Tickets are available at the door and admission will be $3 adults, $2 students. Go West “A Musical Celebration of America’s Westward Expansion” by John Jacobson & Roger Emerson. Gold has been discovered in the hills of California. Watch as the Wagon Master (Dante Clemmons), Steamboat Captain (Yazmin Howard) and Robert Fulton (Haleigha Hardy) battle it out to see whose mode of transportation will provide the fastest way to gold.

Ross Grange To Meet In Falconer

The charter of Ross Grange was draped in memory of Mary Walker during a recent meeting. A Resolution of Respect was presented by Opal Sprague, Elaine Melquist and Betty Wakefield. Preceding the meeting refreshments were served by Mary Jane Griffith. The craft show and Christmas Party were discussed.  Mrs. Griffith will deliver the pop can tabs to benefit dialysis patients at WCA. A letter was received from state Sen. Cathy Young and members completed a survey received from U.S. Rep. Tom Reed. A note of thanks was received from Fenner nurse, Stephanie Buccola, for the socks and mittens collected at the Ross Christmas party. Former by-laws were read along with suggestions for changes; this will be compiled and discussed at the Jan. 23 meeting. A donation will be made to the NY State Grange Museum as a memorial to Ross members who have passed away in the last year. Leona Peterson will be  hostess for refreshments at the next meeting, to be held Jan 23 at 1 p.m. at the Falcon’s Nest Banquet Hall. The Family Activities Committee will present the program.

IDA Board To Gather Tuesday

There will be a meeting of the Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA) Board of Directors on Tuesday at 10 a.m. The meeting will be held at 201 W Third Street, Jamestown, in the Board room, second floor.

Driving Course Offered At School

A five-hour pre-licensing driving course will be held at Frewsburg High School on Jan. 23-24, from 6-8:30 p.m. The cost is $25. Preregister by calling the guidance office at 569-7026 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. When calling, please make sure you have your permit on hand.

Recital Thursday At Infinity Cafe ­

Private lesson students from Infinity Visual and Performing Arts will be putting on a recital at the Infinity Arts Cafe on Thursday 6 p.m. at 300 E. Third St. This event is free, and open to the public.
