Ross Grange To Meet Monday

Ross Grange will meet Monday at the Falcons Nest Banquet Hall. This will be the first of the winter daytime meetings starting at 1 p.m. Mary Jane Griffith will be hostess for snacks following the business meeting.

Singers To Play This Weekend

Community Music Project will present the Chautauqua Chamber Singers 12th night concert on Saturday at First Lutheran Chuch in Warren and Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church in Jamestown. Both concerts are at 4 p.m. Call 664-2227 to reserve or visit www.community musicproject.com.

Support Group Meeting Monday

 

The Jamestown Bariatric Support Group will meet on Monday at the Prendergast Library in Jamestown from 6-7 p.m. The topic of the meeting will be “Beginning the New Year.” New schedules for meeting dates will be handed out for the remainder of the year. Any person is welcome to attend the meetings. Those that have had the surgery or thinking of having the surgery can attend for support. Anyone with questions is asked to call 244-0293 and leave a message.

Library Board Gathers Saturday

The annual meeting of the Mary E. Seymour Memorial Free Library Board will be held at the Cassadaga Country Club, Frisbee Road, Cassadaga on Saturday at noon. The public is invited to attend. Call 384-4023 if interested.

Sewer District Meets Tuesday

MAYVILLE — The North Chautauqua Lake Sewer District board will meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Chautauqua town meeting room, 2 Academy St., Mayville. The public is welcome to attend.

City Gas Prices Increase Again

 

Jamestown area gas prices increased four cents this week to $2.49 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report. The New Year began with increased gas prices reaching today’s average of $2.35 per gallon. The national average has moved higher for 35 of the past 36 days, largely due to market reactions to last fall’s OPEC deal. Pump prices increased by six cents on the week, by $.18 per gallon on the month, and are up by 36 cents on the year. Retail averages in the region continued to climb higher throughout the busy holiday travel weekend with drivers paying the highest New Year’s gas prices since 2014. The New Year also brings gas tax increases for drivers in Pennsylvania (+7.9 cents). Pennsylvania will see rates increase to 58.3 cents per gallon, the highest in the country. In West Virginia, the state gas tax drops to 32.20 cents per gallon and in New York the rate drops to 41.84 cents per gallon. This week’s average price for Jamestown is $2.49. Average price during the week of Dec. 27, 2016, $2.457. Average price during the week of Jan. 4, 2016 $2.25.

Sewer Board To Meet Tuesday

CELORON — The South and Center Chautauqua Lake Sewer Districts Administrative Board will meet at noon Tuesday at the Water Pollution Control Facility in Celoron. The public is welcome to attend.
