Poland Seniors To Host Dinner

The town of Poland Seniors will meet Wednesday at the Kennedy Fire Department at noon for a turkey dinner catered by 3C’s. Call Sally Patchen for a reservation at 487-9758. A representative from the Sheriff’s Office will speak on illegal drugs.

Bemus Point Board To Meet

The Bemus Point Central School Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Monday in the Maple Grove High School cafeteria on Dutch Hollow Road. The public is welcome to attend.

Craft Bazaar At Library Saturday

FLUVANNA — The Fluvanna Free Library will host its annual holiday craft bazaar and bake sale on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Fluvanna Fire Hall, Route 430 at Townline Road. AARP To Meet

At Brookdale

AARP Jamestown Chapter 334 will meet at Brookdale, Lakewood, on Southwestern Drive at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12. Casey Casselman, Busti/Lakewood Police, K-9 handler, will introduce his police dog and talk about the police K-9 program. A business meeting will follow with nominations for next year’s officers. Refreshments will be served.

Fredonia To Host Academic Debate

FREDONIA — The chairs of two academic departments, Dr. Robert Dahlgren of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, and Dr. Stephen Kershnar of the Department of Philosophy, will engage in a debate on the use of affirmative action on Wednesday at 7 p.m., at the Kelly Family Auditorium on the first floor of the Science Center at the State University at Fredonia. Dahlgren will present a case in support of affirmative action while Kershnar will argue against it. Affirmative action is the practice of improving the educational and job opportunities of members of groups that have not been treated fairly in the past because of their race, gender or other factor, according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary. The debate is free and open to the community.

Clymer School Board To Meet

CLYMER — The Clymer Central School Board of Education will meet at 4 p.m. Monday in the Clymer high school library. Items on the agenda include reviewing options for reorganization of school districts and to focus the district’s discussion on consolidation. The public is welcome to attend.

Free Admission For Veterans
