K-9 Unit To Present At Harmony Seniors Meeting Feb. 1
Due to bitter cold temperatures, only 14 members of the Harmony Senior Citizens met on Jan. 4, at the North Harmony Senior Center in Stow. President Beverly Smith welcomed those present and Tom Smith led the devotions and the flag salute. Members enjoyed a tureen dinner.
Discussion held on meetings for the 2018 year. Pic and Poke will be discontinued. Instead, two 50/50 drawings will be held each month. Bingo will be played a couple times a year.
Thank you notes were read from the families of Jim Babcock and Jeanette Nord for the memorials sent from the group, a thank you note from Linda Whitely for the lovely poinsettia, thank you notes from the families who received the white gifts at Christmas and from the Ashville Food Pantry for the donation of canned goods.
A $100 check will be sent to the North Harmony Senior Citizens for the use of their hall from September to December.
Birthdays were celebrated by Livonia Damcott, Doris Rendell, Blanche Tracy and Don Garfield, eldest member present. Shirley Earls celebrated an anniversary.
The next meeting will be held at noon on Thursday, Feb. 1, at the Norh Harmony Senior Center in Stow. Members are asked to bring a dish to pass and their own table service. The food committee includes; Ellen Coffaro, Melvin and Ellen Lord, Bob and Cora Delahoy. Cora will provide the birthday cake. A representative of a K-9 Unit will give a presentation.
