Winged Ox Players Holding Auditions

Jamestown’s Winged Ox Players will hold auditions for its spring production of “A Doll’s House, Part 2”, written by Lucas Hnath, on Friday, Feb. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St Luke’s Episcopal Church, 410 N. Main St., at the Fourth Street entrance.

Actors will be asked to perform cold readings from the script.

The play is a sequel to “A Doll’s House,” which was presented by the group in October 2018. The drama picks up 15 years later. The central character, Nora, returns home with a request for her husband and faces the aftermath of her sudden decision to leave her family.

The play will be directed by Richard Olson-Walter, a local playwright, actor and director Richard Olson-Walter.

“We invite all local actors to join us for an opportunity to be part of something different, something challenging and something fun!” Olson-Walter said. “Being a part of “A Doll’s House, Part 2″ will give an actor the ability to be part of America’s most produced show in 2018. Even more than that, this is theatre stripped bare, with no set, no gap to the audience – just a table, two chairs and a door frame, and a space for four actors to fill. With the added challenge of performing in the round, local performers won’t want to miss the chance to take part in a production where their talent will be seen from every angle.”

The show will run May 3-4 and May 10-11 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.

The Winged Ox Players is a ministry of St. Luke’s that engages the theatrical talents of the greater Jamestown area to present plays that inspire conversations and communication within the community. For more information, call Richard Olson-Walter at 579-8156 or Willow Fodor at 347-495-1536.
