‘Love, Gilda’ To Be Shown

The award-winning documentary “Love, Gilda,” shows Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. and the animated Disney-Pixar film “Incredibles 2” shows Friday, Oct. 12, at 7 p.m. and as a sensory-friendly screening Saturday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m.

Admission to each film is $5.

In her own words, comedienne Gilda Radner reflects on her life and career in the documentary, Love, Gilda. Weaving together her recently discovered audiotapes, interviews with friends (Chevy Chase, Lorne Michaels, Laraine Newman, Paul Shaffer and Martin Short), rare home movies and diaries read by modern-day comedians inspired by Gilda (Bill Hader, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph and Cecily Strong), Love, Gilda opens up a unique window into the honest and whimsical world of a beloved performer whose greatest role was sharing her story. “Love, Gilda” is unrated and is 88 minutes long.

While the Parr family of The Incredibles has accepted its collective calling as superheroes, the fact remains that their special heroism is still illegal. After they are arrested after unsuccessfully trying to stop the Underminer, their future seems bleak. However, the wealthy Deavor siblings of Devtech offer new hope with a bold project to rehabilitate the public image and legal status of Supers, with Elastigirl being assigned on point to be the shining example. Now having agreed for now to stay at home to care of the kids, Mr. Incredible finds domestic life a daunting challenge, especially with baby Jack-Jack’s newly emerged powers making him almost impossible to manage. However, Elastigirl soon has her own concerns dealing with the menace of a new supervillain, Screenslaver, who is wreaking havoc with his mind control abilities. Now, Elastigirl must solve the mystery of this enemy, who has malevolent designs on the world with the Parr family and friends key targets of this evil. During sensory friendly screenings, the sound will be lower and lights kept up higher to help patrons with sensitivity issues. Also, patrons may move around in the seats and talk during the screening without stigma. “Incredibles 2” is rated PG and is 125 minutes long.

Upcoming movies at The Reg include the romantic comedy, “Crazy Rich Asians” on Oct. 17 at 7 p.m., John Carpenter’s 1978 horror classic “Halloween” on Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. and “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” on Oct. 26 at 10 p.m. with an admission fee of $10.
