Gather Your Girlfriends For A Weekend In Ellicottville

Ellicottville’s always eclectic Summer Music Festival showcases a mix of rock, country and orchestral pops — topped off by amazing fireworks.

ELLICOTTVILLE — This spring the Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce invites you to gather your girlfriends for a weekend of luxurious adventure. Ellicottville Women’s Weekend, which takes place June 2-3 is designed to give participants the opportunity to relax and bond with friends old and new while enjoying the diverse activities and experiences available in the area. And for women who lead hectic lives, an additional bonus is that all the work has been done for them meaning they just have to show up and focus on having fun.

“Ellicottville has a growing reputation as one of the top adventure towns in the northeast. And the one thing we’ve discovered is that a growing percentage of our visitors are women’s groups. So this year, we decided it was high time we came up with an event geared specifically for the ladies,” observes Barb Pump, events manager for the Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce. “The great thing about Ellicottville is whether you’re coming from Western New York, Ohio, Northern Pennsylvania or Southern Ontario, it’s an easy drive to get here. And once you do get here, you can experience activities ranging from yoga in town to hiking the local trails and everything in between. And then come back and enjoy the ultimate after everything – shopping, dining, nightlife and spas as well as a fantastic line up of festivals and events in a friendly, quaint and historic setting.”

A base registration fee of $250 includes a Friday Night Welcome Reception Party at Ellicottvillas with all kinds of great surprises. On Saturday, participants can enjoy a full day of fun experiences including an Essential Oils Class, brunch, Canvas N’ Cocktails, Yoga & Brews, The Best of Mixology and dinner with a guest speaker. For nominal fees, there’s plenty more to do including a Historical Hike of Ellicottville, Hot or Meditation Yoga, Group Golf Lessons, Pucker Up Lip Scrubs, Wine Tasting and Cheese Pairing and a “Become a Scarf Fashionista” class. And after all that activity, Sunday is a great opportunity for women to spend quality time with their friends exploring the area on their own … or taking advantage of other local outdoor attractions that are ideal for smaller groups, including horseback riding, kayaking and fly fishing.

“We’ve collaborated with local businesses to create an extensive itinerary of enhanced activities, but we are really just scratching the surface,” continues Pump. “We have one of the best combinations of adventure, experiences and after you’ll find anywhere in the northeast and it just keeps getting better. We’re confident that once women get a taste of how much fun they can have here, they’ll want to return again and again.”

Ellicottville’s full calendar of Green Season festivals and events gets underway in June, goes into full swing during Independence Day (and Canada Day) weekend and keeps humming along right through to fall. Here’s just a sampling of this year’s line-up:
